Chapter 293 - Story 30 Sword is equal to Wand, Chapter 1

"You... Are the unluckiest fucker I have ever seen in my life." My sponsor chucker wryly as I just pouted.

"You died to some overweight fat chick who bought a three hundred dollar wand at Universal Studios and stabbed you with it when she fell on you with her full... GIRTH."

My eye twitched as my sponsor just continued to chuckle before he got his demented laughter under control and continued. "Alright alright, man... Anyway, I have a congo line of Jakes to reincarnate so let's make this snappy. For your karma of dying to a shitty rip-off of a Harry Potter wand, you will be reincarnated in that universe."

"However, due to the Harry Potter universe being too weak and lacking the magic to support true dimensional ascension as Jake's are reincarnated with the hopes of reaching that level. The universe needs to be kicked up a bit, made bigger, worse, or otherwise just made with more power inherent to the universe."

My sponsor took a breath before he continued. "Now, I considered sending you off to a Harry Potter/Percy Jackson crossover universe where the veil of magic was a joke with the monsters running around... But I am going even further. So human belief, and mental energy has its own power inside Harry Potter base worlds you know."

I slowly nodded as I wondered where he was going before my sponsor continued. "So basically, this will still be a Percy Jackson Universe, but with Harry Potter magic filling in the gaps of the Mist, magic is just so much more available to natural-born magical species and myth-based entities."

I raised a hand as I asked dryly. "Wait... So when someone is saying 'Merlin, or Morgana' Will that get those entities' attention as I doubt they were human."

My sponsor nodded firmly and said. "Yes, correct. But in this world... All Mythology is alive, all is correct, and all happened in some way or another. So let me be clear, this world is simply... Bigger for a variety of reasons mostly due to the Asian Pantheons."

I frowned as I considered that and asked. "Wait, so like is the modern world a thing even?"

My sponsor nodded and said. "Yes... Sorta anyway, magic isn't much of a secret what with monsters running around and it isn't uncommon for Pantheons to have beef with one another and causing wide-scale destruction. Either way! That's not going to be your issue, you want to go to Hogwarts right?"

I slowly nodded while a wry frown crossed my face. "Yeahhh, I do want to go? Though I am bit meh about the whole de-aging to what eleven years old."

My sponsor shook his head and said firmly. "Yeah, nope not happening here. You will be going to basically early university at your late teens. And due to the how the world is far more dangerous, the school itself will be much more focused on training their students to protect themselves."

I had to digest that information for a good bit before my sponsor coughed and said wryly. "Also... The British stole the Celestial Bureaucracy Pantheon's cultivation techniques for enhancing internal magical stores and body enhancements. So uh yeah expect some wuxia elements. As Voldemort was an evil 'cultivator' who ate the souls of his followers who failed him. Which further engrained the wuxia elements into Britain's culture."

"Isn't Britain's culture just stealing other people's culture, locking it in a museum and then drinking tea and discussing what they stole?" I asked dryly.

And with not a hint of shame, my sponsor said dryly. "Both the Celestial Bureaucracy and the British share a habit of drinking tea and ruminate on the things they stole and the cities they burned down."

With that, my sponsor clapped his hands together. "Anyway! Time to move on now. Seeing as you aren't one of the particularly more degenerate Jake's you won't be needing a waifu sent with you. But you will of course be receiving a cheat as of course."

And then my sponsor raised up his hand and a royal purple light formed inside his hand that shot into my chest and made me shiver as he spoke. "There. That is the Library of Heaven's Path. After reading a book, practicing a martial art, or a spell. It will sort the information and then with more information put in. It will allow you to improve the subject you are on."

He continued to explain how I could compile books inside the Library of Heaven's Path by touching another person allowing me to list all their strengths, spells, and martial arts they had practiced, along with flaws in their magical cultivation/enrichment technique.

As apparently, some people called the cultivation techniques, enrichment techniques as they thought cultivation made them sound like farmers or otherwise low class.

At the same time, the Library of Heaven's Path can compile books on ongoing processes such as an activated formation or a pill creation process through direct sight, and on artifacts or non-living objects through direct touch. Similarly, the book would reflect information concerning the ongoing process or the artifact, including its flaws. A book is also compiled by eating a dish of food, it shows how it was cooked and its history.

Likewise, it would also allow me to see the flaws in Potion-making and other things that were going to be more common in Britain at Hogwarts... If it still remained Hogwarts of all things.

Other than that, the Library of Heaven's Path also has the ability to collect books and their knowledge through simply touching the book. This ability can be activated regardless of the presence of seals on the book itself. My reading speed inside the Library of Heaven's Path is also supposed to be enhanced by more than a hundredfold as compared to being outside.

So Hermione, no matter how much a bookworm she was. Would be no match for me!

"So, with the Library of Heaven's Path you will be able to create your own cultivation technique when you collect enough information and knowledge. Besides that, it will also give you the perfect talent for the side occupations of making pills and potions for example." My sponsor explained briefly.

"Any other questions?" My sponsor asked curiously as he gazed at me with interest.

I put a finger to my lips and after a moment I asked. "So... Could I marry Bast or another cat-girl goddess?"

And my sponsor sighed and said softly. "Ah... Another Jake who has fallen from the supremacy of dragon girls. Begone from my sight peasant."

Before I could argue the simple perfection that was cat or fox ears. I was violently pulled into a portal behind me and I was swallowed by swirls of endless light.

-

After a quick swirling sick trip through endless dimensions I just... Plopped down onto a park bench with a large backpack landing beside me with a large envelope strapped to the bag.

'Did I get dropped directly into King's Cross or something?' I thought as I saw, I had been inserted into a large train station with dozens if not hundreds of people running around going about their day.

So first of all I took out the pamphlet as I doubted I was in any hurry as I realized I actually had a watch on my wrist that I didn't own previously.

[Within this pamphlet is your local papers along with a map to London's magical sections, along with your registration for Hogwarts... Or a pass to a different school if you want to be really brave. Also within the large bag is some gold you can transfer to Gringotts for the local currency so you can buy some stuff for yourself. Anyway, have fun being a muggle-born its going to be interesting haha!]

I shivered as I could actually hear my sponsor's laughter, but I took a breath as I took out the map and I realized my attendance for Hogwarts wasn't for a couple of days... And although Bauxbaton's and several other schools were listed. Why the hell wouldn't I go for Hogwarts when it played such a huge part of my childhood?

'Ok... Gotta take the tram to Diagon Alley which leads from here in King's Cross. A pretty smart way of moving a bunch of people from wizarding territory to King's Cross, but I need to transfer this gold to money. Buy myself a wand and all the other stuff thats listed.' I mused as I began looking through the other paperwork.

And as I kept reading... I realized something interesting. [Jake Bariss. You have been registered as a newly ascended wizard line. When you arrive at Hogwarts, in order for you to better fill into the Moonlit World, you are highly advised to speak to a resource officer or teacher to learn more of things you will need to know. In the meanwhile, if you have any questions, a teacher will be rotated around the Pristine Cauldron every day until term starts.]

'Hmm, well if I did have questions then I guess I can ask.' I thought as the papers had all the info I needed honestly. So with all that in mind, I took the normal pounds I had and bought a ticket on the tram which ran between Kings Cross and Diagon Alley.

With the ride was rather uneventful besides seeing actual wizards and other people who were dressed up in rather colorful outfits but many people were dressed in more modern normal wear like jeans or khakis with t-shirts or dress shirts.

And I just kept to myself just as they did, but as soon as the tram car entered Diagon Alley, I had to hold in my wonder at seeing... Just so much magic!

People, supernatural races walked freely across the massive street I could see. Wizards in magnificent robes seemingly meant something with the symbols upon them. I even think I saw a Kitsune of all things that was strolling across the road with five tails behind them that swayed as they walked with a pair of fox ears atop their head.

But I made sure to keep moving so I didn't get in anyone's way or otherwise look like a country bumpkin or whatever. And I followed the maps I had to lead me to Gringotts bank which was still seemingly run by a clan or kingdom of Goblins in particular.

'Hey... The goblins aren't snaggly-toothed freaks of nature.' I thought with a twitch of my lips as I saw that although all the goblins had angular faces and had slightly green-toned skin. They only had a bit of an uncanny valley effect rather than being straight fugly.

So hey maybe I could find a short-stack goblin at some point... But I shut down that thought as I went to an empty teller and I hid a wry smile as I realized the tellers were purposefully put at an extreme height so they could look down on the humans and other races as there was even a small box lift that would send whatever we wanted to give to the teller up to them.

"I would like to transfer some gold to Galleons please." I spoke calmly and the goblin nodded and pointed a manicured claw at the box lift and said.

"Aye, gold today is ten Galleons and six Sickles an ounce."

I handed over five of the one-ounce bars of gold and the goblin picked them up and scoffed. "Bah, mundane gold. That be 2 sickles off per ounce as they are not truly pure." The goblin said making my lips twitch.

But I just shrugged and said. "Fair enough." And soon enough a stack of the enchanted gold Galleon coins along with a smaller stack of the silver Sickles.

"Thank you." I said simply and I then left the Bank of Gringotts while also making sure to take in the massive white marble bank that was filled with undoubtedly extreme wealth and seemingly loved to show it off.

And as I got to the end of the bank and prepared to leave said bank, I slowed slightly as I saw an interesting sign.

[Heritage Auction Sale!] [Accounts that have lost all bloodline claims for more than three hundred years will now have the contents of their vaults auctioned off.]

So with that, I looked at my list and after a bit of thought, I decided to go right for what I obviously needed in a wand of course.

'Now to find Ollivanders.' I thought as I made my way through Diagon Alley. And while doing so, I damn near swooned seeing a Nekomata woman who was clearly from Asia and with two tails from her backside that were swirling happily as she ate some fried fish.

After a bit though, I found Ollivanders Wand Shop, and although a larger shop than most of the other ones, it still had a very old style of dark lacquered wood and golden painted wood and metal finish on the edges.

And there was an actual line of people in front of Olivanders as there was a sign beside the front door with an actual guard that was armed with a sword of all things. With the sign clearly stating. [All first-time Wand Buyers line up here. If you are purchasing a new wand after totally breaking your previous one, go to the back, likewise if you need a minor repair or a consultation.]

"Why do we have to line up like commoners mother!?" A bratty female voice spoke up with annoyance in front of myself.

And looking past the probably mother figure of the voice who had silver and black streaked hair. I saw an older teen girl with light silver hair who was scowling angrily as she stared hatefully at the so-called commoners in front of her.

'Is this the mythical big titty malfoy?' I thought with a wry expression before I averted my gaze as the mother spoke out in a drawl, so that even if I couldn't see her expression, I could tell she wasn't amused in the slightest.

"The coming-of-age acquisition of a wand is a staple of British Wizard's culture... And Master Olivander is very particular in making everyone come to his store through the line. With him banning people from his store should they buy the places of others in line."

The mother looked down at her daughter and said plainly. "Not even if the minister was here would Olivander budge and allow someone to mess with his lines with how oppressively fair he is."

Then my lips twitched as the girl sniffed in annoyance before her eyes slid over to me and she scowled as she stared at me.

There was a lengthy pause as she stared at me and then she actually squeaked as she snapped. "Well!? Is there something you wish to say, commoner!?"

And without a moment of hesitation, I smiled and said. "Nope, you do have beautiful hair though." And with that, I just looked away while the haughty girl froze with her mouth ajar before she made a 'Hmph!' notice and looked away as well.

Thankfully however, the process of getting wands did noticeably move in any case.

Most people were with their families and each family came out after like five minutes at most some left within even just like thirty seconds.

So I stood in line patiently for a solid thirty minutes at least until 'possibly Fem-Malfoy' the grumpy girl got to go inside Ollivanders and get her own wand.

After a couple of minutes, the girl bounced out with a smug smile across her face as her mother strolled behind her who called out with fond amusement. "Dorea slow down... Just because you have your wand, doesn't mean you will be able to start flying on your own power yet."

"Oh mother, I am well aware. But I can still do some lesser spells now haha!"

The two then strolled away with the older woman wrapping an arm around their daughter and I raised an eyebrow seeing their forms swirl in place before disappearing with a soft cracking noise. 'An apparition huh?'

But I refocused as I went into Olivanders and a spry voice spoke out. "Ah... A truly new magical bloodline has entered my shop."

And I jumped slightly as from my side a surprisingly young-looking man with silver hair, strode out from where he was dusting a case that seemingly held a wand.

"Yes... I uhm, just figured that out recently." I said with a wry smile. And Mr. Olivander gave a slight hum before he nodded.

"Indeed I imagine you did. So, now that you are joining the civilized world as it were. You will of course need a wand of your own... And for new bloodlines, I do not charge their progenitor for their wands as it's just so much fun finding what fits you Newbloods!" He said excitedly.

He then placed a hand on his chest and said proudly. "In case you haven't heard, my name is Garrick Olivander, proud wand creator of a family lineage spanning more than fifteen hundred years of recorded history."

I just stared at him and then I asked in confusion. "Like you guys got a metal plate or something with all your ancestor's names or something with the family tree?"

Olivanders face twitched before he smiled with a chuckle escaping himself. "Oh, dear heavens no. We have portraits and other things to preserve the souls and consciousness of our ancestors."

After that Olivander clapped his hands together and said firmly. "But! There is a line behind you, and as much as I willing to entertain you and give you some probably much-needed information. You will need to seek out information on your own for it to have any value. Now let us find your wand."

With that Olivander pulled over several blocks of wood out from under a table and he spoke. "Go ahead and lay your hand on these blocks of wood, the wood type that fits you will react and it will swiftly cut down on the temperament of the wood your future wand."

After a moment of thought, I shrugged and began running my hand over the blocks of wood, and the moment my hand began running over the wood, I could feel the wood that had been probably treated magically.

"Blackthorn disagrees with you, Holly rejects you... Hmm, a lighter wood then." Ollivander noted as he pushed more wood blocks toward me

I began handling a few more and then as I landed on a lighter wood I shivered as the wood strongly vibrated in my hand. "Aha, Acaci wood. This sensitivity renders them difficult to place, and I keep only a small stock for those witches or wizards of sufficient willpower and determination for acacia is not suited to what is commonly known as 'bangs-and-bloops' magic. When well-matched, an acacia wand matches any all other wood for power, though it is often underrated due to the peculiarity of its temperament." Olivander noted.

Then after Olivander had me try a couple different breeds of Acacia, we settled on one and then he quickly brought out a cart that contained a stack of Acacia wood wands.

"I typically use three cores within my store, Pheonix Feathers that I receive from Pheonix's that share their lost feathers after their Burning Reincarnation. Next is the blood veins of dragons, that are donated to me after their kind pass and my bloodline spends a good amount of time using our carpentry abilities to make dragon homes in recompense haha." Olivander chuckled before he continued.

"Lastly, I also use Unicorn hairs to make wands... This can be quite annoying to acquire as Unicorns are horrifically tempermental even when they fully develop their spiritual intelligence and can take a human form."

I took the first offered wand from Olivander and he said excitedly. "Well, give it a good wave haha."

And as I gave it a little twitch with the case it was previously in slamming into the ceiling with a loud crashing noise.

While I looked up Olivander slipped the wand out of my hand and then stuck another in. "Nope, not that one. Entirely too rigid, try this one. It's a lot more springy with a dragon vein."

This wand when I waved it sent a wave of fire that parted around Olivander's form with him only raising an eyebrow. "Nope! Dragon veins channel too much power for you."

And then he pulled out a trio of cases and he opened them. "Go ahead and try these."

I picked up a wand and I felt a shot of warmth enter my veins with Olivander humming and smiling. "Good, a nice flexible older and dark Acacia. On the thicker side and being fifteen inches long its a rather hefty wand. With a feather from a particularly emotional phoenix that may be something... In any case, give me a moment to get you a wrist holster."

While Olivander went to go get me a holster for my wand I gently inspected my wand closely. Lightly lacquered acacia wood that had a core of gentle heat within it that I could feel it pulsing as it matched the beat of my heart.

'My... Precious.' I thought before I smiled wryly as Olivander came back with a leather holster that he handed to me. "That will be all young man, unless you have any wand-related questions?" He asked.

I shook my head and then bowed my head towards him and said respectfully. "No, I don't have any questions in mind at the time. Please excuse me then Mister Olivander."

With that I went to leave the wandshop but Olivander called out calmly. "Oh and young man? When you are at the bookstores to pick up your Hogwarts books. Make sure to buy yourself the book [Newbloods and the Moonlit World.]

And with that I nodded and kept going as Olivander's left my sight as he returned to a corner of the shop and so after a moment of thought I shrugged and went to the bookstore recommended by the Hogwarts list in Agrabah's Endless Library.

The bookstore itself was a stone masonry style with alot of painted glass windows that seemingly showed figures of myth... At least, I think I could make Atlas who was holding up the world, Zeus with his lightning bolt, and Amaterasu who had a sun spinning behind her.

Either way, I made my way into the store past the other people doing their shopping and thankfully the Hogwarts list of books for First Years had their own table for easy collection.

Along with the book Olivander recommended me to get in [Newbloods and the Moonlit World.] being close at hand.

And it took me a good fucking minute of reading through the list to see what the hell it meant as even though the British had clearly fucking stolen the Chinese method of cultivating magical energy, they still had 'Harry Potter' style magic in these new courses if you squinted at them.

The list of books was rather wordy but it did however tell me very clearly what I could expect to learn as a first-year at Hogwarts.

That was obviously a lot of lessons but thankfully it seemed unlike public schools or whatever. The lessons wouldn't be happening each day, so it left plenty of time for lessons to take place.

Either way, I was able to quickly snatch up the eight thick books I needed and also the book Olivander recommended me to get and pay for them without any major incident and only once I got all my books. I realized that I still needed to get a bunch more stuff like robes, and other basic living supplies.

Thankfully it seemed that things like cauldrons and such weren't something we needed to buy in terms of school supplies but we still needed to get paper and writing supplies.

But I actually was amused as the Hogwarts list specifically stated that they accepted notebooks and the use of ballpoint pens so long as they were purchased within Diagon Alley.

"Alright, Jake... Gotta get the rest of my crap, then I need to read this book on whatever the hell being a Newblood means." I muttered to myself as I made my way through Diagon Alley to do all the rest of my shopping.
