"Why do I have to go through all of this? If god truly exists, then why are you letting me experience this pain? You're convincing me to believe that you are not real."
Lost in contemplation within the dreary confines of his room, the middle-aged man, who had gone three long days without food due to a mental affliction born from years of hardship, ventured to a nearby store for snacks, only to find his pockets devoid of his wallet.
With the curfew approaching at 21:00 and the hour ticking toward 20:45, he hurried down the shadowy road toward his apartment, anxious about the darkness and the threat of detention, when suddenly, two blinding headlights appeared before him, and a truck collided with him.
"Oh, Is this the end? I didn't ask for this but I can finally rest from everything. I don't want to go through all that kind of pain anymore. I went through a lot and all I can say is good job self and now let yourself rest in peace."
The guy gave up everything and braced himself from disappearing. He began to get flashbacks of what he gone through.
[I am Julian, a 42-year-old man, by the way. I refuse to get along with everyone when I was in grade school. My overweight body always gets in my way of playing any sports, so people didn't try to become associated with me despite the fact that I am bad at everything. I managed to graduate high school with just an average grades.
In high school, I isolated myself from others, paralyzed by the fear of their reactions, and at home, I felt the stark contrast of my mother's love and my father's disdain, who often called me his "failure son."
Despite everything I had gone thhtough, I never considered taking my own life, rather, all I know is that I am content with what I have.]
"Are you truly longing for the end of your life, or are you merely seeking a way to escape from all the pain?"
Suddenly, he were addressed by a lovely voice that makes no attempt to emerge.
"Who are you? "
"I'm the Goddess of Life, and it's nice to meet you, Julian."
As the Goddess spoke, Julian stood frozen in disbelief, and after a long, profound meditation, he wept before finally answering her inquiry.
"I'd like to live, but not the way I did."
Julian is kindly questioned by the Goddess.
"If you had a second opportunity, would you want to start your life over again?"
While contemplating his entire existence, Julian cast his gaze to the ground.
"I would surely grab the opportunity, if I am given another chance to live and restart my life." Julian replied.
"What pushed you behind that conclusion of yours?"
"I want to go back to the beginning and choose a proper path different from what I live as all I went through previously was nothing but misery.
"Alright. Then I will give you another chance to live your life; I will reborn you in a world considerably different from the one in which you previously lived."
"Live as much as you want, however you want to live."
What Julian heard astounded him.
"I will make you live as one of the chosen heroes with tremendous magical abilities."
"I merely watched and read about it in books and anime, but I didn't think it was real: A world with magic? I'm not dreaming, am I?"
Julian appeared to be excited and looking forward to it.
"But there is one thing you should be aware of, you won't be reborn with the body the same you currently have; you must start over and work hard to ascertain your goals."
"Certainly. It would be u fair to everyone if a man with cheat-like powers appear in their faces suddenly and I also wish for that It will chip away my pride as a grown man."
"Then everything's good, be prepared and goodluck, Julian."
He nod at the Goddess and says, "Thank you very much, Goddess."
"A second life from another world, huh?"
