The bed was lumpy. Why was my bed lumpy? What happened to it? Did I fall asleep with some of my art supplies in the bed again?
No, that didn't seem right to me at all. I was too keyed up and excited to even draw last night. I planned on making something new, but not until morning when I had the time to figure it all out. A gift of sorts. Two of them. One for Breanna, to celebrate our new status. And something for my sister, to let her know I wasn't going to take her friend from her.
So, why then, was there something hard jabbing me in the back? It didn't seem like art supplies either. It was too big, too hard, and too out of place. In truth, it felt like a rock. A large, round, smooth rock. But there wouldn't be a rock in my bed.
Although now that I thought about it, why was my bed so hard? All of it. There was no plush comforter, soft mattress, pillows, none of it. I didn't feel like I was in my bed at all. If I wasn't in my bed, then where was I?
