Qianqian's face was full of hope, her eyes clearly lively.
Why would her birth mother be so indifferent to her?
Aunt Chen felt a twinge of pain in her heart. After a two-second pause, before she managed to respond, Qianqian suddenly lifted the blanket and climbed in.
"Miss Qianqian, are you going to sleep?"
"Mmmhmm."
Qianqian tucked herself in nicely and obediently said, "Qianqian is good, early, sleep, mama, love."
She meant to say that if she went to bed early and was a good baby who listened to her mom, then her mom would like her.
Aunt Chen's heart ached even more, and she turned away to wipe her tears.
As she composed herself and thought to offer a few words of comfort, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
"Perhaps the Fourth Young Madam has come back. Miss Qianqian, you lie down, I'll go open the door!"
Aunt Chen hurriedly got up and trotted to the door, but her gaze into the parallel outside revealed no one.
