Chapter 16 - Superweapon

It was late in the night and the only thing that resounded through the dark offices and rooms of the Yamanaka clan's HQ was the humble beeping and humming that was emitted by different machines.Of course ,there were people on night shift but they were few.One of them was Yamanaka Inozen ,who's interest was peaked by the contents that were found in Kaguya's scroll .

"Those info are written in diary format .Can't believe it!All those years in training just to read an alien girl's diary!"he thought,though he admitted that this artifact provided helpful info about the Otsutsuki clan's hierarchy and social relationships.

According to the scroll,the relationships between the Otsutsuki were infused with suspicion and intense rivalry ,which led to many cases of backstabbing.Of course,those instances where severely punishes by the clan's administration,however the objectivity of the clan's jurisdiction depended on the status and the connections that the clansman that was undergoing trial had .

As Inozen continued to read through the scroll using the supercomputer,he discovered a very interesting interaction that was documented by Kaguya.
"I'll be leaving for a distant planet named Earth for a few universal years ,outside of the Magellanic Cloud.Again ,just to turn into food for this ten-tailed monster for that alcoholic old-man's personal benefit.But...my mind isn't on the mission right now .A...strange fellow clansman approached me today,low ranking ,as the color of his robes was green.Ah!I can't even remember his face though,since it was shadowed by a hood.He kept mumbling at me about ...a bizarre concept .That the true world isn't the one that we feel with our senses but the one we perceive with our own mind.

So I replied that,if we perceive the true world with our minds then each one's true world is different,as every each one of us is different.However he retorted that there is only one true world,a truly objective one that only those who have seen the light are able to perceive it.I asked him then how is that objective true world .Then,he told me that everything in this world is unchangeable,stable,intangible,eternal.I...couldn't wrap my head around this concept though.This man is either too smart or just too crazy.

Don't know,this man seem like a potential revolutionary with all these weird ideas and opinions,not that I care though .I am not going's to report him to the higher-ups anyway for potential insurgence,not my problem if he decides some days later to turn against them."

Inozen smirked after skimming and readings upon Kaguya's scroll ,scratching his chin .
"Interesting!So the the Otsutsuki clan has different types of fruits in it!Our albino alien friends appears more complex than they seem."Inozen thought to himself in a sarcastic manner.However,the detail that stuck in his mind was the fact that Kaguya mentioned the Magellanic Clouds,those small galaxies at the edge of the Milky Way.
"Either the Otsutsuki homeworld exists there or they got something like an outpost "he said to himself troubled and crossed his arms ."Nevertheless,I suppose that attempting to infiltrate their den at the Magellanic clouds would surely be suicide."
Then suddenly the door shut loudly as Nox entered in the room with food in her arms.
"Brought the food,found anything interesting yet?"she asked and tossed the food on the table as Inozen ignored her,his eyes nailed on the scroll .

"The thing that I despise about us is the despicable behaviour of the higher-ups against the lower-ranking personnel,like me.These idiots can't understand that without us they wouldn't be able to get their precious chakra fruits."Inozen read aloud the contents of the scroll."Yesterday my pair-damn how much I want to nail a piece of iron in his head-kicked with all of his might a low-ranking girl,just because she tripped on him!Said it was an act of 'instinct' and 'self-defend.Nosense.The little girl was crying,since this idiot broke her a few ribs,so I took her home and fixed her with some chakra pills.Poor thing!Once I arrive on Earth and finally consume that chakra fruit I'll get justice for her and everyone else that has been wronged!"

"Damn our alien friend had a lot of internalised hate against her clan!"Nox noted in a sarcastic manner, opened one of the bags and grabbed an enormous plastic bowl of ramen.

"Especially against Isshiki."Inozen added ."Unsurprisingly nevertheless.She literally tried to kill him during their time on Earth."

Nox then grabbed a pair of chopsticks and snapped them in half.She lowered her mask,a scar across her lips and dug in.She then surprisingly stopped,as if something passed abruptly through her mind.

"By the way wasn't Isshiki Otsutsuki the dude that inplanted a karma in Sayako's father?"she threw out a question,some would say unrelated to the contents of the scroll .
Inozen then lifted his red glasses ,glanced at Nox and slightly smirked sarcastically.
"Both me and you know that this is not the case!Everyone believes that Isshiki planted a Karma in Boruto and Momoshiki in Kawaki Uzumaki,Lord Seventh's son,while in reality it's the exact opposite!"Inozen replied ,took off his glasses and and cleared the lenses with a piece of cloth.

"Kawaki the biological son of the Seventh?Pf!Come on!"Nox scoffed intensely "He doesn't recognise him as his biological son.He insists that Boruto is his biological son not Kawaki!"
"And because of that a lot of people call him paranoid,since all of people's memories prove the opposite,even though tangible proof,like photos and videos support Lord Seventh's opinion.People believe that Kawaki mistakenly did something on his brain when he was in that timeless dimension and that someone manipulated data like photos and videos.

"I see..."Nox replied in a monotonous and cold way.
"However!"Inozen put his glasses back on."How could everyone remember that Momoshiki was sealed in Kawaki,while he was clearly inside of Boruto?How could people tend to overlook this?There are even videos and photos of Boruto being under his influence!There are DNA samples from Momoshiki in the bio-labs that were extracted from Boruto!"he tossed in the conversation his objections about the common perception ,with a tone of great disagreement and concern.

"Not only that!Can't people see the uncanny similarity between Lord Seventh and Boruto?Even their jutsus are the same!"he added.
"Well people indeed put great trust in their memories and their point of view.Even if you show them the truth they will blindly follow the lies that have rooted in them,unable to understand they're blatantly wrong.They'll make up any bullshit to defend their perception ,not because they are bad people,but because they don't have the mental capacity to handle the truth!"Inozen stared at Nox with his eyebrows raised,speechless,after she spewed her long philosophical answer.She then took a big slurp of her ramen,emptying half of the bowl.

"Yeah...I read philosophy in my spare time."

"I mean...It probably sounds like an overblown conspiracy theory."Inozen shrugged and took a bite of a pizza slice."But someone or something used a jutsu altered the the way history has been recorded!"
Nox eyebrows fell upon hearing Inozen's theory ,a smirk appeared on her face.

"Yeah...ok"she scoffed.

Then suddenly ,an announcement loudly resounded through the corridor .
"YAMANAKA INOZEN'S PRESENCE IS DEMANDER TO THE ELDERS' OFFICE IN NO MORE THAN 60 SECONDS.ANY KIND OF DISOBEDIENCE REGARDING THE AFOREMENTIONED ORDER WILL RESULT IN STRICT PUNISHMENT"

Inozen appeared to take this announcement very lightly ,at least this is what seemed from the outside,as he grabbed a cigarette from the box and lit it .He then got up,preparing to head towards the door.

"WHAT DO THOSE OLD SHITS WANT AGAIN!"he screamed from the top of his lungs ,dust from the cigarette almost fell in Nox's ramen bowl.

"You really gonna appear in front of the Yamanaka Elders with a cig in your hand?"Nox stared at Inozen's hand ,holding back her laugh.

"Yeah.So what?"

"Aren't they the elite of the clan or something?"she asked in a sarcastic tone and her eyelids narrowed .

"Yes,they are."Inozen lowered his stance and got close to Nox "And I am Yamanaka-fucking-Inozen!"he then spun and turned around,swiftly walking towards the door.

Inozen stood in front of a tall semicircular machine,with peculiar machinery attached on it.There were 7 tall thrones at the base of the machine ,a person sitting on each,the Yamanaka clan elders.They were pretty old,someone would guess that they'd be Kakashi's Academy classmates The Elders bore different types of shinobi-ware ,with the most profound being wires inserted in the back of their head ,wires that were directly connected to the machine.

"You really do have the nerve to barge into the Elders' room while nonchalantly puffing a cigarette?"the first one from the left said with intense tone ,throwing a gaze of disapproval at Inozen with his bright green cybernetics goggles that were attached to his eyes.

"Night shift has been pretty stressful.I mean ,those alien stuff really spark existential crisis."Inozen retorted in a sarcastic way,puffing his cigarette and blowing circles towards the Elder's direction.

"Shut up!"the third shouted and slammed her metallic hand at her throne's arm."Do we really have to remind you your place in the hierarchy the bad way?Do you think that you can take on us just because you bear the Electric Eye?"

"AHEM!"the one in the middle interrupted her ."We didn't summon you because of Kaguya's scroll,it's not our primary object of interest."he appeared more calm than his subordinates."We summoned you to discuss about Uchiha Hayato's entrance in our psychiatric ward regarding his surgery."
Inozen raised an eyebrow and tried to hold back his chuckle,his cigarette crinkled as he clenched his lips.

"What am I ,some kind of doctor or something.Like,I couldn't care less about this little shit!"

"As you already know ,Doctor Shiro Yamanaka has taken on his treatment a long time ago ,he successfully managed to earn Lord Ninth's trust .He is also going to be the lead surgeon for Hayato's surgery." even though he received a rude answer from Inozen,the Elder responded with composure.

"Okay,and?"

"The fact is..."the first one from the right continued."We are not going to simply treat the Uchiha's problem."

"We are going to enhance the Uchiha's abilities,help him reach his ultimate potential!"the second from the right added,letting out a small chuckle that radiated maliciousness.

Complete silence fell inside the room .Inozen simply stared at the 7 Elders bewildered.
"What?"he simply exclaimed with an expression of confusion in his face.
"What do you mean by that Inozen?"the third from the left ,the obnoxious one ,retorted at Inozen's response."We are simply going to modify him using shinobi-ware!"

Inozen's cigarette fell on the ground ,as his mouth hang down.

"Does the Hokage know about this?That you are going to inject military-grade implants in her 10 year old son?"

"Of course she doesn't!"the first from the right answered "She'd impale us on a pole if she knew."

"You're going to do that even without her knowledge?Have you old farts lost your fucking mind?The Yamanaka clan will be instantly dissolved by violence if she learns that we are going to do such thing!"Inozen took an offensive tone against the Elders ,yet,even though normally they'd punish him,they stood unfazed in front of his borderline rage.

"Oh,come on,Inozen!We both know such thing could never happen,taking into consideration how vital are service is for Konoha's security."the middle one said.
"It is true that we overpower the other Shinobi Villages in terms of intelligence and communication,but we are behind them in the current arms race.Exploiting Uchiha Hayato's genetic makeup will give us an advantage!"the first from the right thoroughly explained,unable to see the pure craziness of the plan.

"And what kind of cyberware are you going to inject to him?"

Following Inozen'a question ,the first Elder from the right established a chakra connection via a specific chip in his brain with Inozen.He directly transmitted info in Inozen's HUD about the shinobi-ware that was about to be implanted on Hayato.

The core idea of the whole enhancement was to boost Hayato's already developed attributes,such as speed,agility and dexterity.His bones would be replaced by titanium ones,most of his skin would be replaced by synthetic and perhaps put even tungsten on it so it can withstand high temperatures.His face would be reinforced with metal ,his ears would be cut off and be replaces with cyberware.But what truly managed to shock even Inozen himself were the two final paragraphs of the blueprint.

"You seven gotta be fucking kidding me!"he shook his head ,blankly staring at them.
"You are planning on awakening his Sharingan and using his Otsutsuki DNA evolve it into a Rinnegan?ARE Y'ALL BOZOS EVEN TROLLING AT THIS POINT ?!"Inozen roared towards them,his scream filled the room and silenced the beeps and whirring of the different machines.

"We have already exploited Otsutsuki DNA successfully once!We already know the dangers of playing the DNA of the gods!"he finally added as his tone relaxed a bit ,his face ,whoever,did not.

"We did NOT exploit Otsutsuki DNA!A scientist did it,whose loyalty to Konoha is really questio-"
"Pfff,forget it,forget all about that!"Inozen abruptly interrupted him,waving his arm "Uchiha Hayato would NEVER ,EVER allow shinobi-ware in his body.Do you know how this would affect him psychologically?Not that I really care ,but what if he reaches the point of ...suicide?"

"That's why you will be monitoring him 24/7,to ensure something like that would never happen."the middle one answered with reassuringly,as if he had the answer ready before Inozen asked the question.

Since Inozen understood that asking fairly logical questions about the absurdity of the plan wouldn't have any effect in stopping it,he decided to leave the room,speechless.But before he even attempted to turn around,the middle Elder spoke once again.

"One last thing ,Yamanaka Inozen.We are in no position to destroy our relationship with the Hokage.The shinobi-ware that we are going to implant in Hayato are not of our development,a private corporation made them in fact.You'll have to register their representatives in Konoha's Chakra Network ,so they can enter the Village.Also ,do not forget to destroy any evidence that proves our affiliation with this corporation .This way,after the surgery,Konoha's Agencies will blame only them for the forced implantation of the shinobi-ware.This way ,the Hokage's rage will be directed towards them,not us!"

Yamanaka Inozen gave no answer to him,turned his back and walked towards the door,awkward silence dominated the room.Subtle smirks formed in the Elders's faces as Inozen left the room as almost no one in Konoha could imagine the frame-up that they were planning...almost no one.
The smirks that appeared on their faces testified that the cybernetic augmentation of Uchiha Hayato wasn't their only goal.Something big was been set up in the background.Of course ,they knew that Yamanaka Inozen wasn't an idiot ,he was definitely able to see through their dirty method.Thus,their meeting was indirectly a warning of doom towards him.

The humming of the door of the elevator resounded ,as the mirror in it reflected Inozen's serious face,a face that it hid great rage underneath.He grabbed tightly the ledge underneath the mirror ,letting out a huge sigh.

"Those bastards with their foot in their grave...they really want to frame me for covering up a felony!Even if they fully disclaim responsibilities for Hayato's forced augmentation,Konoha's Authorites will turn against me ,thinking that this crime will happen with my consent!"he thought and lowered his head,a chuckle left from his mouth.

"They fear me..."he muttered to himself.

"Or...they've found my replacement,perhaps my age has passed.But I am Konoha's Electric Eye!I am meant to be perpetual!No one can replace my efficiency,GODDAMNIT!"he let out a burst of rage ,smashing the mirror with his fist.
"Who's gonna keep the country clean,if not me?No one is willing to go this far into protecting the village as me!"

Inozen sighed in exhaustion and rubbed his eyes underneath his glasses.He pulled them away,his scarred right eye was nothing but a slit.Yet it opened, revealing a bionic eye that very much resembled a camera's lens.

"I have to remind those bozos..."his eye gleamed red "...that nothing in this village exists or happens without my consent!"he finally exclaimed with a vague phrase.Or perhaps a message,as he knew that the Elders were 24/7 observing him,listening to his every word,analysing everything his eyes saw,noting every sense he has felt.

The elevator dinged as it reached the 5th floor,the doors opened widely and Inozen turned around.He definitely never expected the person that was waiting for him outside of the elevator.A tall ,caped figure that constantly buzzed,indicating that he was a hologram .He had his pitch black eye nailed at Inozen as the other one was covered by his neck-length hair.He wasn't older than 55 perhaps,with the most prominent feature on his face being his beard.

Inozen flinched upon laying eyes on the man and growled to himself.

"Uchiha Sasuke...What are you doing here?"
