And just like that everyone was gathered around the long dining room table again, tired eyed from the night's events. Though they still did their best to enjoy their breakfast. The room was silent as everyone ate, but once the Master of the house finished he clapped his hands together with a loud CLAP! that made a few of the guests jump.
"Good morning everyone! Sorry to startle you. Another fun game completed, this time without spilling any bodily fluid!" he joked, pausing for a laugh, but the room remained silent except for a few childish snickers from Barric. Master Rauly continued on.
"So as you all are now well aware, my maid Momo was the killer and a fine job she did, ending the game with an astounding ten kills counting myself. Eight of those were guests, with the only survivors being Maid Canglo, Mistress Nushi, Master Lucian, and maid Luna. So let's give her a big round of applause!" the Master said, starting to clap first. Everyone else joined in, some awkwardly as they had been Momo's victims. The goblin maid stood up on her chair and gave a little bow, while holding a glass of wine.
"Sadly, the first of our guests to be killed were Master James and his Maid Skippy, so they have been eliminated, but of course you are both still allowed to stay for the remainder of the games. Which reminds me! Maid Skippy,-" Master Rauly began, the shy mouse's ears perked up. "My maid Momo told me of your performance and heroics in the last game. So though you two may have been eliminated, if you would stay with us until the entire game is complete, I would like to offer you both a consolation prize!"
The mouse gasped and turned to her Master with a big smile. He smiled back at her and grasped her shoulder. She then looked to the Master of the house and did her best to speak up.
"T-thank you Sir! And thank you Momo!" she managed, just loud enough for everyone in the dining room to hear.
The Master just gave her a wave of his hand.
"I'm just glad everyone is trying their best at my silly little games!" he assured her.
The goblin laughed.
"Sorry I had to go so hard against you!" Momo told them.
"I'm glad everyone is having fun! That reminds me of something else actually! Quinn, Did you find out who ate the rest of the cake?" Master Rauly asked the cat girl.
The cat stared up at the Master in silence for a moment as she had been caught off guard, but then laughed a bit and rubbed the back of her head.
"Well uh, yes actually! It was me…" she admitted.
Barric gasped while everyone else just raised an eyebrow at this.
"Is that so?" the Master asked.
"Yea, I went for it as soon as the lights went out. I thought if I made a big deal of finding out who did it, no one would suspect me," she explained.
The Master nodded.
"Well it worked because you had me convinced!" Master Rauly nodded with a smile.
Quinn blushed and waved her hand.
"I guess I'm a good actor!" she teased.
"There is something I don't understand," Sylas said out loud. The room grew silent.
"And what is that Master Sylas?" Master Rauly asked.
"How was Momo able to kill you from the other room?" the demon asked.
"Great question Sir! Momo, would you like to explain?" Master Rauly asked the goblin.
