Taking care of a baby is tough work—especially for the mother.
Every time they wake up crying, whether it's in the early hours of the morning or dead in the middle of the night, it's usually the mother who stirs first. She feeds them, comforts them, and helps them fall back asleep. And if the baby's cries aren't due to hunger? Well, chances are their cloth diaper's been wrecked.
In that case, even the father can step in—changing a dirty nappy isn't exclusive to maternal duty, after all.
So, if the father happens to wake up before the mother, the first thing he should do is check the diaper. If it's clean, he picks up the baby and tries to lull them back to sleep. But if that doesn't work... it's time to call in the expert for some late-night breastfeeding.
