Entering Galaxy Online once more, I got back to work, diving into crafting and not thinking of the outside world. With my mind occupied, it did not take me long before I was suddenly pulled out of thought by Ura's announcement that we were about to exit Slipspace at our next destination and that we would make planetfall in another two hours.
For those two hours, I worked on my job without further thought and enjoyed myself. I quickly learned that crafting guns was a lot of fun. I was thinking about doing a half-dozen things when it came to shotguns, but the main thing that still weighed on my mind was whether I should pick up an engineer to make mobile traps.
The thought of making a Drone myself was daunting. It is not part of my profession, meaning I would have to hire someone else. I realized that this made more sense since we're making an organization. Custom parts and tools for our bounty hunters only made sense, and it could also incentivize people to look for us when we entered the Main universe.
There was always after the Tutorial, which only created a Starting position, and who knew what others got out of their tutorials. For myself, I wanted to have as much as possible, and starting off with an organization sounded amazing. Recruiters, Bounty Hunters, Engineers, crafters, and so many more things had to happen in this. That was what was promised by large organizations to do all of that for you.
My mind blanked, and my eyes widened as I realized that the main people who would thrive in this environment were not Call of Duty virtual reality players. I was thinking too small. The realization that there was one other not-so-popular Virtual reality game that had traction in the past. I did not know how many would come over from there, but it was a VRMMO that played in a fantasy world, had basic Crafting system, and did not promise half of what Gabin Corporation promised with Galaxy Online.
There was one thing that those players that crossed over would get.
MMORPG experience in Virtual reality and the basic workings of a professional guild setup. People making weapons, potions, and various other basics for the combat professions. That is something that many of the other professional game companies would not have, so I closed my eyes.
Then again, I was an amateur looking to make a corporation of my own, so I would be coming at this from behind anyway. So, I guess I should stop worrying about what advantages others have and play with the hand that I have dealt. This meant fixing my weaknesses with NPCs in the Tutorial.
I was out of the 'system' intended area allowed to gather things, and although I was fucked in some respects. One thing I did know was that I was better off hoping that they would allow me to bring everything into the main universe, including NPCs.
"Honey, can you suit up?" I heard over the ship system getting my attention, and I got up and walked over to my suit, putting my previous thoughts away. We only had so much money, and I would have to work within my means, which was not what I wished. I was already at an advantage, so let's work on that and move forward.
I felt the ship jar a little as it set down on the ground, and I finished putting on my armor. I opened the hatch and walked toward the bridge in full armor, with all my guns, prioritizing my shotgun for close-range combat at this moment. Ura stepped out of the bridge and smiled, "The inspectors will be here in a minute," Ura informed me, and I grinned.
"Then let's do this," I replied.
Three hours later, with a very strict scanning process, we finally finished the inspection, and I could tell the inspectors were nervous, not of me, but of the condition. They were on high alert about something, and I could only guess that it was the very reason that we were here. When they walked out, Ura grinned, turning to me. "Another successful job pass. We need to deliver and move on. I already have two more contracts, so we are going to be busy." Ura said, and I nodded.
"I am going to bring Emma this time. I want her to watch what we do and get started learning a bit. I am going to fit her with a handgun and a sawed-off shotgun." I replied to Ura, and she frowned.
"You sure that is a good idea?" Ura asked.
"She may not have reached the physical standards yet, but the experience will do her good. She needs to learn we are not good people and that she will be on the dirty side of the business."
Ura chuckled and grinned, "Okay," Then she looked me up and down, "I think after two or three more contracts, we should book a hotel room for some fun."
I grinned and pulled up the face mask of my armor before pinning her to the wall and kissing her. Locking lips, I deepened the kiss till she was moaning and all bothered before I broke it, "Of course. Now we have a contract to complete." I said, grinning, looking at Ura's lusty expression. I was outraged as I started to walk away to go find Emma.
Emma did not take long to find, and I grinned as she was covered in sweat inside the crew quarters. I could see her trying her best to do more and more push-ups, and I stood on the ladder, "Emma," I snapped, and she fell to the floor, smacking her face against the floor as she jumped from the scare and turned to me with wide eyes. "You are joining us on a delivery. You got five minutes to change and get ready to go. I will be giving you a gun. Now hurry up," I snapped, jumped, and walked to my compartment to gather supplies for the girl.
To my surprise, four minutes later, with her hair wet, Emma walked into my room looking sexy in a white tank top and black cargo pants. I realized that we had not suited her up properly. I quickly tossed her the harness that I used when I started to play the game.
Emma grabbed it, but I saw her wince as the muscle pain was probably there. I said nothing, though, as she started to put it on, and I put three handgun magazines on my workbench and a shotgun with twelve shells. "This is what you get for today. If something happens, you listen to orders but also protect yourself. I will not be mad if you fuck up as long as we all leave alive and preferably with Credits entering our bank accounts." I told her.
"Yes, Mistress, thank you for giving me this opportunity." She said with a grin. Her arms were already starting to bulk up a little, and she grabbed her guns and ammo. It took her a minute to find where everything went, and I got up and walked to the door and watched her finish before we left the compartment together, fully loaded.
As we walked out, an air lorry landed near our ship. The ship opened up, and we started to bring the containers into the air lorry. It only took us ten minutes, and we loaded up the illegal cargo. "We are going to our special delivery first before the legitimate one. We need to ensure that everything goes according to plan." Ura said, and I nodded as we finished loading up the air lorry. Ura moved to the front and started to piolet the ship. Leaving Emma and me alone.
I turned to look at Emma who was looking a little lost at what was going on and I grinned. "So, our job right now is not bounty hunting," i said as the Lorry took off toward our destination. "Can you tell me what you think our current job is?" I asked.
"Protection of the cargo," Emma replied confidently.
"Who do you think we are delivering these containers to?" I asked.
"Business partners?" Emma replied, and I chuckled.
"Business Partners?" I chuckled, "These are people out for themselves, Emma. Bounty hunting is dangerous, but I have ended up in just as many fights, if not more, protecting cargo as bounty hunting. So we will be on guard; we must protect Ura with our lives. She is our payday; she is the one who feeds you and owns you. Without her, we are fucked, and no deals will be made, and we will be planet locked. So, Protect her and kill anyone who tries or threatens to harm her." I snapped, and she nodded.
"What in the Cargo container?" She asked, and my hand was on her throat the next second, and I was choking her with an iron grip.
"NEVER FUCKIGN ASK THAT QUESTION!" I snapped harshly, "We are here to deliver a package, not fucking ask what is inside. Especially you," I sneered, "We are protection guards, Bounty Hunters in that order. We protect our ship and cargo with those people who facilitate that first, and then we are bounty hunters. Now," I said, letting her go, and she gasped, falling to one knee. "Is that all understood?" I asked bluntly.
"Yes, Mistress," She coughed out after a moment, and I helped her up.
"Good, these are things you need to understand. Now, let me see you pick a place in this Air lorry to best protect your boss while she is in the pilot seat." I said and stepped back.
"What does this have to do with Bounty hunting, though?" Emma asked.
I sighed and pressed my armored hand against my armored face. "Everything," I said, taking a moment to gather my thoughts. "What do you think is the most important thing in battle?" I asked.
"Firepower?" Emma replied, and I almost smacked her.
"I am really going to fucking have to start from the beginning?" I asked her and sighed. "How the fuck did you not learn this while you were a sniper?" I asked, "What is the most important thing when you're a sniper?"
"Position and Aim."
"Good. Now, what is more important?" I continued, "Position or Aim?"
"Um, aim because if you can't hit a target, then what's the point of position?"
I winced because she wasn't wrong. "True, but Position is more important." I said before explaining, "It does not matter what your aim is if you park yourself in a place that you will, no matter what godly aim you have, cannot hit them, Correct?"
"Okay, I am following," Emma said, blushing as she started to realize.
"Good, now think about what I did when I captured you."
"You came up from behind us. Knocked us out before we even had a chance."
"EXCELLENT." I said, clapping. Now, I positioned myself in a better place so that I could take you out Silently. That is how important positioning is. You had a position that gave you a massive view, but that position has downsides, like you cannot see the entrance of the cave you were in. Now, do you understand?" I asked.
"You are saying that the positioning that you want me to do protection will also teach me positioning in bounty hunting."
"EXACTLY~!" I happily said, "Now, pick a position to defend Ura while she is in the cockpit." I said with a grin
What happened next was an hour of me going over various positions that Emma took and their upsides and downsides. Although Emma started off slow, I could tell that she was actually starting to pick up what I was teaching. She started talking about various things when people saw her in the air lorry, depending on their state of mind, which had me over the moon with happiness.
Then, finally, the Air lorry landed, and Ura came out of the pilot seat and smiled as Emma was sweaty again, running around all over the cargo containers and around the air lorry itself. She looked at me, and I smiled, "She is learning," I said, "Now, Emma, your job is to stand beside Ura. You will act as her guard, and I will be around. Do not think about me or look in my direction during Ura's conversation with the client. Understood?"
"Yes, Mistress." She replied, and Ura looked at me as I went to the corner. My passive camouflage took me out of sight, and I put my sniper rifle and assault rifle to the side, taking my shotgun as my primary this time. I blended in and waited, wondering if this was going to go south yet again.
