Seeing the first merc to exit the building having his head blown off, the other mercs quickly backed off. They had thought they were safe, but then they heard a very peculiar sound, and before they knew it, another one of them died with a bullet in their head.
It was at this moment that the group of mercs ducked onto the ground while crawling backward, but as they were doing that, the sound similar to before could be heard, and the same as before, another one of them received a bullet in their head.
The group of mercs moved even quicker and came back to the emergency exit stairs. Once they were there, they no longer heard the horrible sound that signified death. Still, despite not hearing the sound, the group was on the ground, filled with tension as they surveyed their surroundings. After a while, the tension lessened, and one of them finally spoke up.
"What the f*ck was that?!" As if that were a signal, all the other mercs reacted.
