Silence reigned across the car, it's thick wave carrying an awkward ambience as they locked gaze on one another.
Pete was certain he had heard her right as he silently stared at her. Watched her.
"What do you mean there's someone else?" He asked, his voice was low and calm, and subtly streaming with shock and bewilderment.
Lina felt a dryness in her mouth and she slowly swallowed as she tried to hold the watchful and intense gaze in his eyes.
"I-I mean there's someone in my life." She softly answered, her voice barely sailing above a stutter. She was once again realizing how unsettling the pensive and soul-searching gazes of Pete Hudson could be.
Regardless of the way he looked at her, she would always feel his eyes piercing and scouring through her as if in search for some hidden secrets.
She struggled to keep a calm demeanor to prove to him she wasn't telling a lie, but the scrutiny in his gray eyes had her faltering and wanting to shift in her seat.
