"What rules?" Upon hearing the boat captain say so, Little Yang couldn't help but become curious. The farmers on shore didn't have so many rules.
"What else but the rules of the sea, we boat families have our own rules too. For example, certain surnames can't come aboard, and certain words can't be said on the ship. But the Boat People have even more rules than us, they have to consider feng shui even when taking a shit or a piss."
"I don't know about the rest, just make sure you ask your elders when you get home, so you don't break any taboos."
"I see." With the description from the boat captain, Little Yang tried hard to piece together an image of the Boat People in his mind.
"However, these Boat People, I must say, do have one good point. Any floating objects on the water, be it alive or dead, must be picked up for a look. They believe if they don't, their ancestors will blame them."
