Upon hearing the Captain's summons, the crew arrived promptly. When Charles posed his question, the Second Officer Krona was the first to speak.
"Indeed, during the time you disappeared, people from He Fang Island claimed they had found you. But after we rushed there with great effort, we discovered you weren't on the island at all. A beautiful woman was crying; she said you had been taken away by a monster with tentacles."
"Why hasn't anyone told me this before?"
"We didn't find you, so we assumed the people of He Fang Island were deceiving us and returned directly. Later, when you returned to the island on your own, we simply forgot to mention such a trivial matter."
Charles frowned slightly as he crumpled the letter in his hand—the contents were true, it had indeed been Margaret who had rescued him before.
