Though he wasn't really supportive of the thought at first, Thaelis eventually accepted Dalton's request to teach his subclass to a person the latter recommended.
Considering that the old man was the main reason why he was able to get to where he currently was, he thought that teaching his craft to another person was the least he could do to repay the kindness his grandfather had shown him.
Fortunately, both he and Valyr hit it off well from the start, with their personalities melding together as they continued to talk.
