Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Hearing the remarks from Sukehiro, Hisashi opens his eyes and looks at him. He just smiles cheekily before sticking out his tongue to his brother who decided to ignore him. However, when he saw that his chair was sliced in half, an annoyed expression has fallen on his face.

The two finished their heartfelt reunion and looked at the people at the door. Koyori looks at him before her smiling expression turns to anger.

"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" She screams as she hit Hisashi on the chest. He just laughs as she hugs her again to stop her actions.

"No. I would do that. Also, from now on, let's go together to school. Wait for me in your house." He said as he feels the warmth of his friend's body as he caresses her hair.

"Really? Okay."

Hisashi then sees the adults enter the room. Without hesitation, Masaru and Furukawa immediately gave him a bow.

"Thank you, Hisashi, for saving our daughter." However, Itsuki suddenly grabs Masaru's head and raises it.

"Stop it, Noodles. I'm cringing." Masaru then angrily sweeps the latter's hand. "I'm not bowing to you. Shitter."

The others were confused with their interaction except for Furukawa. It was because Masaru told her about it when she told him about Hisashi and his relationship with Koyori.

According to Masaru, the two of them were once enemies. Itsuki once came to their school in another town to look for someone to fight. There, he saw Masaru who fought him after provoking him many times.

Itsuki defeated Masaru which is why he calls him Noodles, short for 'Noodle Arms'. However, a few minutes later, Itsuki created a massive commotion after he was reported to have vandalized a toilet in a famous restaurant in the town by clogging up the toilet.

It was spread around their school which led to Masaru calling him Shitter. After that, Masaru looked for Itsuki to challenge him which he won. He won after provoking the latter by calling him by his new epithet. This allowed him to utilize his style more by countering Itsuki's attacks and defeating him.

This happened almost every day for more than a month before Itsuki mysteriously disappeared. Their vile impression of each other turned into a friendly rival after their everyday fight. They talked, eat, fight, laugh, and did mischievous things together for more than a month. Which of course, is instigated by Itsuki.

Of course, he saw him again, but this time, on the Samurai Training Program which hosted many students from different towns together.

There, he was able to meet Itsuki again. But the years that passed changed the Itsuki that Masaru know. He still teases him with the Noodles nickname but now, he doesn't go around looking for a fight. His bathroom tendencies also lessen which is a surprise.

The two told this story to everyone which gave them a surprise for a bit. Hisashi buts in to tease his brother which made everyone laugh.

"Now I know why brother loves the toilet." "Do you wanna die?" The bickering of the two entertained everyone who already forgot the gloomy atmosphere before. Masaru didn't even remind them of the gore that he witnessed a month ago.

He had already asked the samurai with him to keep the matter a secret and state that they could take credit for killing Taoru. Although Masaru isn't a big figure in the country, his reputation for being one of the richest and most famous businessmen in the town, he was able to convince the two.

Although he wasn't always in the village, he heard about Hisashi's reputation from his wife. If other people were exposed to such information, Hisashi might be ostracized even more by the town.

Yuna then comes closer to her son. "I understand what you did and I'm proud that you're happy. However, I have one condition before letting you go."

"What is it, mother?"

"No intense training until you're back to normal, okay," Yuna says as she raises her finger.

Hearing this, Hisashi became slightly gloomy. He plans on training as soon as possible to get stronger but he decided that he shouldn't. He already worried everyone after what he did. Moreover, he can explore his magic which isn't as dangerous even if he over-exerts it.

"Okay. I understand."

After hearing that the main witness of the case woke up, two samurai came to Hisashi. They asks several questions about the case but they kept it straight to the point because they thought that it was already finished either way.

In cooperation, Hisashi told them mostly what they need like the identity of the criminal, his intentions, and his story. Of course, he didn't reveal everything and replaced some of the parts like how he used different magic and told them that Taoru wasn't that smart. He told them that he was able to outsmart him by fighting dirty.

After the investigation was finished, Koyori came back again to his side.

"Koyori, brother told me that the apples you brought were better than the market. Where did you buy it? I never ate an apple that didn't come from you. Also, your apple bracelet – do you like apples that much?"

"What do you mean?! Of course, they're better. Do you want to know where?" She asks as she smiles cheekily at Hisashi.

The latter wasn't a force to be reckoned so he immediately agreed.

"Do you remember how I told you that I always dream very bizarre things?" "Like you were living a different life and observing many different people?"

Hisashi looks at her before answering. "Yes. However, when I was in a coma, I also dreamt. But this time, it was different."

"You know how I was adopted by my mother and father when I was a baby near a river? In my dreams, I was an infant being held by a woman with brown hair. She was being chased by many people with swords. In her last moments, she threw the baby and said… 'I hope what I see is right. Michael… live without regrets. I love you, my child.'"

Although surprised, Koyori didn't react. "Who is she then? And who is Michael?"

"I don't know too… However, I have some suspicions."

"If you're worried, then stop worrying about it or I won't bring any more apples."
