By the time we were still on the road, I had developed an headache.
As I sat in the carriage ride, the rhythmic clatter of hooves against the cobblestones seemed to only exacerbate the throbbing headache on the side of my head. I knew the cause of it all too well - Nyana's cackling laughter echoing in my mind like a haunting melody.
I was exhausted, bone-weary tired, and all I wanted was to close my eyes and drift off into a peaceful slumber. But I dare not at least not in this vulnerable state that I was in. I knew that if I succumbed to sleep now, there was a high chance of Nyana visiting me in my dreams, and she would trap me or possibly spit out nonsense that would add to my throbbing headache and I simply couldn't deal with that right now.
My mind was just so tired, in fact I felt drained and I think Nyana was adding to it. Her laughter, sharp and piercing, was like a knife twisting in my mind, a constant reminder of all the pain and sorrow she had brought into my life.
