The corpse wall standing in the distance bore patchy bloodstains. As the girl moved, the surrounding buildings became sparser; they had all been demolished by people. Furthermore, no more concrete or asphalt could be seen on the ground, only black soil. Some patches were covered with a thin film, beneath which seeds were buried. Not far away, some newly sprouted plants could already be seen growing from the land.
People were watering the ground with pale green, strange liquid from their watering cans.
Parts of the tentacles clung to the corpse wall, odd-looking flowers sprouting from them. This stretch of the corpse wall bore many breaches struck open; some sections of the wall even collapsed. Through the gaps in the wall, one could see a bizarre, purplish-red flesh mass outside, from which forked tentacles occasionally reached out, grasping something unknown.
