Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten: Going To School

"Alright class today we're going to go over the grades of power and how they relate to the rankings in the revolution." the teacher said talking to all the young kids probably around 9 or 10 and of course Mahō sitting in the corner.

"I still can't believe gray wouldn't just tell me and is making me come to classes with some little kids that thing I'm a total creeper." Mahō mumbled to himself while shaking his head before paying attention to the teacher again."

On a chalkboard in the room the teacherwrote:

Emperor Class - The Pinnacle of magic

King Class - Near the top of the magic world with extreme power

GD class - Able to destroy Major Cities

Special Class - 2 or 3 could usually kill a GD class in the right situation

Grade 7 - the pinnacle of normal achievable power.

Grade 6 - full mastery of innate magic

Grade 5 - good ability to silent cast

Grade 4 - grasp of the 4 elements

Grade 3 - learn more of your innate magic and other basic spells

Grade 2 - You learn what your innate magic is and are able to use an element

Grade 1 - You begin using one of the 4 main elements to start your journey.

Grade 0 - unable to use magic/unawakened

The grades of power are just a way for us to put an estimate on someone's power, it's not all defining but more of a general guideline. Now if you look at the board you will see that grade 7 is what we consider the pinnacle of normal achievable power and after that is what we call special class. It is called special class due to you having to be special in order to reach it, it's not normal and most special class and above are monsters of this world. Grade 7 is what I would like everyone in this room to strive for, as I believe everyone here will be able to reach it. Grade 7 is when you have mastered your innate magic and the 2 elements that you find yourself most in tune with. You will also be able to silent cast complex spell of your innate magic and medium level spells of your 2 preferred elements. Most grade 7's are allowed to go on missions with special grades as support mages, so I highly recommend around grade 5 you start working on your support magics to help the special grades in the future. As the teacher continued to talk about the grades, Mahō actually came to understand a lot about how the system worked, and it began to make sense to him. He also would agree he would be classified as a grade 5 which made him irritated that he was put into the private first class because when she drew on the blackboard again he got an understanding of how the ranks worked within the revolution.

On a chalkboard in the room the teacherwrote:

Major General - King Class - Emperor Class Leader of the revolution.

General - King class - Emperor Class Leaders of major city operations

Colonel - GD Class - King Class

Major - Special Class - GD Class

Captain - Grade 5-7

Lieutenant - Grade 4-5

Sergeant - Grade 3-4

Private First Class - Grade 1-3

private - Grade 0 - 2

"Simply put, I should be a lieutenant or a captain, but I'm just some lowly private first class under Gray which is some bullshit because I'm way stronger" Gray mumbled to himself again before the teacher started explaining things better.

"While this is the general guidelines for how rankings work within the revolution, these are not always followed. Most new recruits will start as a private or private first class even if they are strong enough to be higher, this is for them to learn the social structure and how things are handled in the revolution before they are put into a position of power. Because after you move into or past Sergeant, you will start being put in charge of other people until you hit the rank of Major, which like I said before you would have to be a monster to do. I recommend everyone here strive to a Captain or a Lieutenant and lead."

"Well, I guess that makes sense, but ill be captain before Gray becomes a lieutenant, I'm sure." Mahō's internal thoughts kept complaining that Gray was above him in rank, but this would some come to pass, at least he hoped.

Leaving the classroom after a honestly informative lesson with 10 year old's Mahō was felling energized and ready to do something with his day.

"Hey Mahō how was it learning like a little kid?" Mahō heard from his side from a mocking voice followed by giggles. Turning in their direction, he saw Bella and Sophi pointing at him and the source of the giggles, remembering to kill Gray for making him go to this stupid class came into his head again for probably the 100th time today.
