Like before, the name of the Abyss varied. Some deemed it simply the Abyss of Madness due to the state of those who walked out of it, and that's the name that was commonly used to define it.
But those who were interested in history also understood why it was named 'A demon's retreat.' A Great Demon that once walked the earth entered the abyss as his retreat after suffering losses on the material plane.
