This vast plain originally had no name, but later came to be known as the "Blood Plains," a place of taboo.

In the tenth year of Great Zhou, the Western Expedition Army of Great Zhou clashed with the Southeastern Alliance Army of Daqin on the Blood Plains. They fought fiercely for two days and one night, and all 270,000 soldiers of the Qin Army perished.

The main battlefield turned into a plain awash with blood, a scatter of corpses strewn everywhere, its gruesomeness reaching an extreme.

The bodies of the Qin Army were buried on-site by the Western Expedition Army, and a tombstone without inscriptions was erected, under a night sky where even the moon was red.

For decades afterward, the Blood Plains became a forbidden land, with few daring to set foot upon it.

It is said that on nights of the full moon, people saw ghostly shadows flickering on the Blood Plains, where the spirits of the Qin Army's officers and soldiers still struggle fiercely in battle.
