Jayr POV - Universe 7, Earth, West City - Age 779
Shortly after the portal that suddenly pulled back, Black closed up, leaving behind nothing but the clear sky, and seeing that Goku, Krillin, and Piccolo can't help but exclaim, question, and comment.
"Eh!?"
"Hey, what happened to that guy!?"
"I can't sense his Ki. He completely disappeared."
At the same time, I hear Beerus as he calmly states, "He did not disappear of his own free will," followed by Whis, who gracefully explains, "Most likely, when the Time Machine came through, it caused a distortion in time and space. The power of the Time Ring responded to that distortion and brought Black to this era. But that distortion fixed itself and returned to its normal state, and at that time, the Time Ring pulled Black back to the era he came from by force. Well... He just ran out of time."
Black POV - Dragon Ball Universe(A.T.), Earth, West City - Age 796
"Woah!"
I suddenly emerge out of the same portal that brought me to the past, and with a quick look at my surroundings, I immediately notice the familiar surroundings and mutter unsure, still a little disoriented by the sudden change, "I came back?"
Suddenly, I feel an agonizing pain in my chest so much that I can't help but grunt in pain while instinctely clutching the area where the pain comes from with my hand which immediately reminds me of the blows that Son Goku hit me with and the gains I recieved because of them, something that makes me chuckle despite the pain.
But then the pain becomes too much, and I lose control of my Ki while my mind blanks out for a moment, and thus, I start to fall to the ground.
My mind snaps back into consciousness when my body crashes into the ground with enough force to create a small crater.
While lying there and grunting in pain while still clutching my chest, I can't help but mutter as I remember the battle I just experienced, "Son Goku... This is the power of the Super Saiyan, Son Goku... I was able to embed his fighting style into myself. It will make my powers even more perfect. It's just a shame that I wasn't able to also experience his son's power... After all, he is the strongest... I can still feel the immense raw potential within this body, and it easily drafts anything I felt while fighting Son Goku."
At this point, the pain gets more menagable, so I lift the hand clutching my chest and watch as the glowing light surrounding the Time Ring fading away while at the same time, the portal that brought me to that era is also completely closing down and realize, "I can't go back to that era, anymore."
I can't help but lament that the chance of killing Trunks has been wasted, but I'm still satisfied with the result of this unexpected trip to the past.
Shortly after coming to that conclusion, I get up and slowly start to rise into the air while muttering, "Oh, well. The Time Machine was destroyed. Trunks cannot go anywhere else from that era."
At this point, realizing this, I can't help but start laughing out loud, "Huhuhu. Hahahaha. HUHUHAHAHA!" before stating in glee, "Finally, the one who fought against me has disappeared from this world."
Jayr POV - Universe 7, Earth, West City - Age 779
Everyone but Whis and Beerus is gathered in front of the burning remains of the Time Machine, and, of course, standing in front of everyone is a devastated Future Trunk with Trunks standing next to him.
Seeing the current state of his future self, Trunks' mood also gets sadder as he looks down and wonders out loud, "I wonder what happened to that guy?"
Hearing that, Future Trunks planly replies, "He must've returned to the future." before his body starts to shake in anger for a few moments and then he punches the ground with enough force to create a fist-sized crater as an outlet for his rage while lamenting, "But, I can't go back to the future, anymore! Even after Father and Goku-san, too, agreed to fight together for me... There's no one in the future who can stop that guy. It's just as that guy said... He will annihilate all of humanity!"
At this point, I step forward and comment, "My, my... How dramatic. You speak like you've lost all hope." This makes Future Trunks turn toward me while glaring before he looks at me confused and asks, "Who... Who are you?"
For a moment, I was very tempted to start singing Aladdin's Friend Like Me to lighten the heavy mood, but then I realized that among the people present, only Goza would understand the reference, making it quite pointless.
Because of that, I simply smile and introduce myself in the most traditional way possible, "My name is Jayr Pucci. I'm 22 years old. My house is in another universe. I'm married to 6 incredible and beautiful women and have three cute children. I work as a wandering doctor helping and healing anyone who needs assistance and some times kick the ass of unsavory people and punish them for their evil deeds, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and I make sure I get six hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about 5 to 6 hours of extremely intense exercise before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. I then awake as refreshed and recharged as a newborn child, ready to take on the day's challenges. I can assure you there were no issues at my last check-up, as I'm way beyond healthy. For as long as I can remember, I've done everything in my power to live a productive life that allows me to pursue a lasting inner peace. This may be a foreign concept, but I choose not to concern myself too much with winning or losing, life's troubles, or enemies who bring sleepless nights. That is how I cope with this exciting life we find ourselves living. It's what brings me happiness in an Omniverse fraught with assholes, hardship, and misery. Of course, if I were ever to engage in combat, I would win the battle without question."
While saying that, I can't help but shudder a little while thinking, 'Hell yeah! It has been quite some time since I last used Yoshikage Kira's monologue as a model for my introduction... No matter what the baffled and confused reactions I get when I use it is always so interesting and amusing...'
As expected, the reaction to my lengthy introduction is extremely amusing, because not only is Future Trunks looking at me with eyes and mouth wide open as if he is unable to believe what he has just seen and heard, but the other people around us also can't help but react to it and comment.
"Wait! Wait! Did he just say that he has 6 wives!?"
"Did you hear that, Vegeta? He punishes people who have done evil deeds... So it is better that you do not mess things up this time."
"Damn it, Nappa! I do not mess things up! Most of the times it is actually Kakarot's fault that everything goes to shit! I just try to fix his messes!!"
"Hahaha! Jayr is very confident."
"Oh my god! Is that a Jojo reference!?"
While everyone is still caught up in the sheer awesomeness of my introduction, I casually wave my hand to snuff out the flames and use Restoration Magic to manipulate and rewind the time of the Time Machine to restore it back to its pristine condition, much to the shock of everyone else.
"What!?"
"The Time Machine is fixed!!"
"How did he do that!?"
At this point, I turn around and explain, "I simply turned back the time of the object to a time before it was destroyed by Black... Nothing too complex."
Hearing that, Cell can't help but ask, "Wait! Didn't Whis-san say that manipulating time is a very serious crime and not even the Gods are allowed to casually do it?" to which I calmly respond, "This may be true for your universe. But in the Omniverse as a whole, there are many, way too many, ways to actually manipulate Time. It is to the point that it is not even funny as some of those ways allows even mortals much weaker than Yamcha to actually manipulate time however they want." making Nappa exclaim, "Even weaker than Yamcha!? Impossible!"
Some time after the shock passed, Goku called out and asked, "Trunks. How strong was he just now, compared to the time you fought him in the future?"
Hearing that question, Future Trunks thinks about it for a few moments before he says, "Compared to the future, he was a little bit stronger." which makes Goku asks for further comfirmation, "Not a lot, but, just a little bit?"
Future Trunks nods and confirms in a not-so-confident tone, "Yes... probably."
In response, Goku smiles widely and says, "In that case-" but before he can continue, Vegeta interrups him and says, "In that case, there's nothing to worry about. Kakarot's real power is far greater than this. And just for the record, the same goes for me, too. And as much as I don't like to admit it, Goza's current power is far greater than both of us."
Stunned by this revelation, Future Trunks asks, "H-How did this happen?" which makes Vegeta casually reply, "Well, a lot of things happened."
At this point, Piccolo comments, "Talking about Goza, Black's Ki was growing rapidly while he was fighting you just like Goza's does," which makes Goku agree, and with a serious expression, he adds, "Yeah. We don't know his potential either. But considering that he looks just like Gohan and Goza, we should at least expect that his potential isn't any less than either of them."
Shortly after that, the group gathers around Beerus and Whis and as soon as we are close enough, Beerus complains, "Damn you, Jayr. Why did you fix the Time Machine? Without that thing, humans can no longer manipulate time so easily, and it would make everything much easier for everyone!"
Hearing that, Future Trunks starts to panic and stutters, "W-Wait, God-sama! The Time Machine is our last hope-" but before Future Trunks can continue, I interrupt him with a snort and say, "Don't give me that attitude, Beerus. While I admit that the Time Machine is indeed a very dangerous object that it shouldn't fall into human's hands nor be casually used, it is also very clear that the current situation is pretty much a very rare exception. After all, you should know very well that is something truly affects and brings a true danger to the flow of time then that particular force would surely make a move."
In response to my words, Beerus simply snorts and looks away while an amused Whis starts to chuckle and comments, "Hohoho. Jayr-sama brings up a very valid point."
At the same time, a curious Future Trunks asks, "That particular force? What are you talking about?"
Seeing that he isn't the only one curious, I calmly explain, "I'm talking about the Time Patrol. A group of warriors under the leadership of the Supreme Kai of Time whose only purpose is to regulate and protect the flow of time. While the Time Patrol allows some small variations here and there, if some major one happens, they will surely interfere and do everything possible to fix the timeline as soon as possible. The fact that no Time Patroller appeared means that Trunks' presence in this era is something allowed, for a certain point of view one can even define such a Canon Event."
After saying that, I smile wryly before I add, "Of course, this doesn't mean that the Time Patrol is omnipotent as accident happens and events spiral out of control. Because of that, a new alternative timeline gets created from time to time."
At this point, Whis changes the subject focusing back on a more pressing matter catching everyone's attention, "I'd like to inform everyone that while the Time Machine can be considered a low priority issue, we've discovered a different problem."
Then, Whis calmly asks, "Did you notice the ring Black was wearing on his right hand?"
After thinking about it, an unsure Future Trunks replies, "Yes..." which makes Whis explain, "Only a Kaioshin is allowed to use that. It was a Time Ring."
Curious by the new term, Future Trunks repeats, "A Time Ring?" followed by Piccolo who asks, "Then, Black is a Kaioshin?" but Beerus immediately denies it, "That's not it. A Kaioshin would not look like Goza or Gohan."
At this point, Future Trunks asks, "Then, who exactly is Black?" which makes Beerus shrug his shoulders and reply in an apathetic tone, "Well, I don't know about that." Before Whis explains, "A Time Ring is only used to travel to the future. And then, to return back to the present. Using it to travel to the past should've been impossible. Even in the world of the gods, travelling to the past is strictly prohibited, after all."
Hearing that, Goku starts to scratch his head with his finger while looking up and has a confused expression on his face as he comments, "The future, the past, the present... It's all so complicated for me." which makes Piccolo coldly state in response, "It's unlikely for you to understand what's going on, anyways." followed by Cell who adds, "Come on, Piccolo-san. Don't be so hard on him. In the end, the only important thing we have to focus on is beating Black, anyways."
At this point, Goku cheerfully exclaims, "That's right! We just have to wait for Black to return!" However, Whis quickly rejects this idea and explains, "That won't work. Black cannot travel through time of his own free will."
Disappointed by that news, a dejected Goku comments, "Then, unless we go to the future, I can't fight Black," which makes Vegeta snort and state, "That's right, Kakarot. The only thing we can do now is wait for the Bulmas to create the fuel needed to activate the Time Machine."
Jayr POV - Dragon Ball Universe, Zeno's Palace - Age 779
After enjoying spectating the incursion of Black in this timeline and introducing myself to Future Trunks, I decided to take a step back and return to Zeno's Palace to have my revenge at Mario Kar- I mean to keep the physical manifestation of the will of this universe entartained and avoid that his boredom causes the destruction of some planets or universes, but using my Cosmic Awareness, I kept a track of the activities of Goza and the others, while waiting for them to travel to the future.
For example, shortly after I left Earth, an exhausted-looking Bulma arrived and revealed a capsule before she threw it, releasing its content, Future Trunks' other Time Machine, the one used by Cell to travel to the past.
Future Trunks and the others expressed their surprise upon Bulma showing them the other Time Machine and when Goku showed confusion over where it came from, Bulma explained that it was the Time Machine that Cell used to travel to this timeline and that she is in possession of it after asking Future Trunks before if she could keep it for research.
After that, she explained that since Goku, Vegeta, and Goza vowed to travel back in time with Future Trunks to help him deal with Black then the current Time Machine just isn't enough as there wasn't enough space to fit everyone, so she searched for this one so that they can use both Time Machines, but then she reminds them that it was currentily unable to go as it's poor condition but thanks to the lab notes and the help of Future Bulma she said she would be able to get it up and running soon.
At that point, Goku asked Whis for more training but he declined and so he decided to train on King Kai's Planet while Vegeta trained with the Gravity Machine with Nappa, and Goza went to the Lookout to train with Cell, at the same time, Krillin and Piccolo were trapped with fixing the damages left behind by the battle between Black and Goku.
However, when Goku headed to King Kai's he was quickly turned down after the mess that he had left on his planet after his previous training session.
Some time later, Dr. Brief and his wife Bikini returned from their vacation and Bulma asked if he will assist her with fixing up the Time Machine togheter with her future self, something he quickly agreed, meanwhile Bikini was excited to see both Future Trunks and Future Bulma, who shed a tear seeing her cheerful mother alive and easygoing father still alive.
Meanwhile, Future Trunks overhears Mai's name and remains stunned for a moment before he talks with her and tells her how he knew her in the future.
Hearing that, Mai asked what she would be like in the future, and Future Trunks told her the story of Black and the resistance that formed soon thereafter.
One day in the future, Black suddenly appeared and laid waste to most of humanity, and those who survived went underground and formed a resistance who fought back, one led by Future Mai and with Future Trunks assisting.
However, all their attempts end in vain, and the two are left with no other choice but to use the Time Machine to go to the past to seek help.
At that point, Mai started to become smitten with Future Trunks, much to Trunks' dismay, who seemed to forget that, in the end, Future Trunks is simply a version of himself.
With his story finished, Trunks asked why Future Trunks didn't bring Future Mai with him, but he explained that she was gone.
Shortly after that, Goku appeared via Instant Transmission and offered some encouragement and advice.
Meanwhile, Beerus muses about Black and the Ki that he let off, finding it to be familiar as Whis agreed and decided to do some investigating on the matter.
Some time later, everything fell into a routine, the Bulmas were working on repairing the old Time Machine and creating the fuel, Mai and Shu were helping them by handing them things they called for, working hard for Future Trunks' sake, and Dr. Briefs was repairing something else while Pilaf was watching.
Meanwhile, Vegeta was violently training in the Gravity Room, delivering his promised vengeance on Nappa for all the times he had made fun of him.
On the other hand, Goku and Beerus loudly exclaimed how hungry they were while Whis was observing a recording of Goku's earlier fight with Black.
Future Trunks was laying in bed when he suddenly woke up after having a nightmare, and he got up and asked his mothers how the Time Machine repairs were going and how long it would take to create the fuel, and Bulma answered that she's making progress.
On the other hand, Future Bulma said that it will take a full day to save up enough to fill the tank of both Time Machines.
Future Trunks was surprised, as he remembered that in the Alternate Timeline, it took nearly a year to fill up half the tank, and she commented how it was hard for her because of the limited equipment in the future.
Future Trunks offers his help, but Bulma says she's fine as the "freeloaders", her father, and Future Bulma are helping.
Future Bulma then told Future Trunks to change out of his dirty clothes.
Outside, Krillin and Piccolo were doing yard work as Future Trunks approached them and asked how Gohan was doing.
Piccolo shot down the idea of Gohan going to the future, as he has become a scholar and distanced himself from fighting.
Future Trunks told them that Future Gohan was his teacher, and Krillin then suggested that Future Trunks go meet Gohan, but Piccolo said that he was currently at a conference.
After that, they hand Future Trunks a map to Gohan's area of work, and he waits there as Gohan walks past him and recognizes him.
Future Trunks was surprised to see Gohan, noting he could not sense the brimming power from him, which was very different from his twin brother Goza.
They then eat a couple of ice cream cones as Gohan invites Future Trunks back to his house.
Once there, Gohan introduced Future Trunks to Videl and Mr. Satan.
Future Trunks knew who Mr. Satan was due to his appearance in the Cell Games, but Mr. Satan interrupted him, saying he must be famous in the future.
Gohan then introduces Future Trunks to Pan, who sprays her bottle at him playfully.
Videl apologizes while Pan does the same to Mr. Satan and Gohan before she levitates in the air, and Future Trunks was surprised, but he realized that she is Gohan's daughter.
Gohan called for Pan to come down as he dons his Great Saiyaman Suit and started playing with her.
Gohan caught Pan as he and Videl invited Future Trunks to stay for dinner.
Videl was cooking, Gohan was finishing his conference report, and Mr. Satan was showing Future Trunks recordings of his victory rallies, but he was clearly still anxious about the situation in the future.
Mr. Satan was called by Videl, so he asked Future Trunks to watch Pan, who hit him playfully and pulled his hair.
After some time, Gohan and Future Trunks were outside with Pan, and Gohan said that he did need to be stricter with her but got soft when he looked at her face.
This made Future Trunks watch Gohan play with Pan with a warm smile, especially for seeing Gohan so happy.
At that point, Videl called Gohan and Future Trunks for dinner.
As Future Trunks eats dinner and says goodbye to Gohan and the others, he is inspired and finds out what he is fighting for.
Later, during the night, the Bulmas and the others are eating dinner, and Future Trunks shows up in his new outfit before he asks where Goku is, which makes Krillin say that he and the Gods went to Universe 10, having analyzed Black's peculiar ki.
The reason for that was that Beerus and Whis know someone who lives there who has the same ki as Black, and because of that, Goku, Beerus, and Whis head off to the Sacred World of the Kais of Universe 10.
Whis had an idea that he knew Black's true identity and revealed that Zamasu is a Kai who is a fighting genius and the apprentice to Gowasu, the Supreme Kai of Universe 10.
Hearing that, Goku became excited at challenging him while irritating Beerus so much that he threatened to push him off.
At that point, I focused a little on Universe 10 and saw that Zamasu struck up a conversation with his mentor Gowasu about humans while pouring tea for him.
He said that he wanted to destroy them, but Gowasu rebuked him and said that wasn't his decision and that Kais are not allowed to interfere with creation.
Some time later, Whis, Beerus, and Goku arrive at the Sacred World of the Kais, and Zamasu was surprised at Goku for being on the Sacred World at the same time Whis noticed that this was the first time he has ever met Goku.
Zamasu clearly didn't want him there and almost attacked Goku, but Gowasu stopped him from doing it and pardoned him.
Once that was done, Whis got Gowasu up to speed about Black and was telling him that he was no Kai and possessed a Time Ring.
When I saw Zamasu's reaction through my Cosmic Awareness, I immediately realized that he didn't know about Time Rings yet, making it clear that this was the exact point that started the whole Zamazu and Black mess.
Beerus then told Gowasu that Black looked a lot like Goku's son, surprising him at this, before he asked where he kept the Time Rings, and Gowasu said that they were in the temple.
Beerus wanted a confirmation, so Gowasu made Zamasu lead Beerus, Whis, and Goku to the temple, and the time rings were there.
After that, Goku continued to beg Zamasu to fight him, who kept saying no, however, to Zamasu's dismay, Gowasu insisted that Zamasu fought him, telling him it was a part of his training.
Just as Gowasu was saying that Zamasu should hold back, Beerus interrupted and told him it would cost him his life if he did so.
