By the time Russell truly awoke, it was already half past one in the afternoon.
He didn't even realize he had woken up—because as soon as he regained consciousness, he heard Cui Que's teasing, light-hearted voice, "Finally awake?"
"...How did you know I was awake?"
"Because of the frequency of your breathing."
As Cui Que spoke, she gently patted the back of her head, "Look what you're using as a pillow... you bad cat."
Only then did Russell realize that, at some point, he had ended up using Cui Que's chest as a pillow.
His first reaction was a mix of guilt and concern, "How long have I been laying on you... Doesn't it hurt?"
