SUMIRE
As a member of the underworld, she has learned one important rule to survive over the years. Regardless of where you are, always carry a weapon. While her physical prowess far surpasses most people, if she gets knocked out with a weapon, she will struggle to get back up.
'I underestimate Toh. I thought he already showed me everything he knew intimately, since we have become more passionate with each other as of late. I thought that was all, but of course he has been holding back on me.'
Why does a man like Mashima Toh have to exist? It would be so much easier, if she could be repulsed by him, just like she ended up being repulsed whenever San held her. However, it's different with Toh.
'He was kissing me like he couldn't breathe without me, like if my lips left his, his heart would stop. I have never experienced anything like it before. How can a person crave another person so badly?'
Her feelings are a mess.
Like Asuka said, even if she has all the facts, she won't be able to go against him. It's impossible.
It's laughable, Aki spent so many years training her to harden her emotions and what to do when she is betrayed, only for it to end up like this.
It didn't take long before the person she was waiting for showed up.
"Speak." Sumire said. "You know exactly what Yuhi-san is up to right?"
It was difficult leaving Toh, but she had to knock him out, otherwise he would have followed her. It was difficult explaining Eli's presence before when she had to sneak away to speak to him, let alone this information broker in front of her whose presence reeked underworld. Even if they have become more open about being members of the underworld, it's still difficult for her to show him this side of her.
Jack exhaled deeply. "I really don't get paid enough for this job." He mumbled.
Sumire whips out her gun, and Jack raises his hand in surrender. "Al-alright, al-right. No need to start threatening me." He trails off. "Yuhi's been investigating the black alice organisation, long before they became more active. Actually, I'm under the impression it was one of the reasons why he joined."
Sumire frowned. "What makes you say that?"
"He's been doing things like this, before he left Tokyo the first time to come to star town. Since you're one of his fans, you should know, there have been several times in his career where he has taken a hiatus."
Now that Jack is mentioning it, there have been occasions where Yuhi-san has been gone for a long time. But, they were always for believable reasons, his health, injury from a fall during one of his jobs, resting his voice, attacks from haters. All the reasons released to the public were believable, so she never thought to question it.
During those times?
"When he figured out he would find more clues in Star town, he decided to join the Holy knights. It worked, since he could get the information he needed and protect you."
Sumire's cheeks flush. "W-we didn't know each other before then, so surely--"
Surely not, at least she wanted to say that. But, they had met. During that snowy concert. However, it was such a long time ago. She didn't think Yuhi would remember someone like her.
Jack raised his eyebrow. "Are you really still denying that? That man's been obsessed with you for so long."
Sumire wanted to stop blushing, but it was difficult doing so.
'I want to deny Jack's words, but there have been plenty of occasions where I thought the same. That's why, I even entertained the idea of having feelings for him.'
"Black flames, did you know he had an ability like that?"
Jack shuddered. "The first time I met him, he was using that. It was so frightening."
No wonder Jack has always been afraid of Yuhi.
"But, this is a surprise. He showed you?"
Sumire shakes her head. "I saw it on a video. Err, he's causing so much havoc with the black alice organisation, and being very high profile."
"Right, I suppose he has been quite careless and yet Aki hasn't caught him yet has he?"
Sumire nodded.
"Do you want me to find him? I think he would appear before, since he knows you order me around."
Sumire rolls her eyes. "Are you dissatisfied with giving me information and jobs?"
"Not at all, I earn triple the amount as your information broker you know? Your boss pays me extra."
Sumire sighs. 'Just another reminder that Aki practically stalks every aspect of my life. It didn't bother me but after meeting Mashima Toh, I realized how strange it was and how much I enjoy my freedom.'
"But really, how did you get that information?"
At those words Sumire bit her bottom lip, but took a deep breath as she explained things to Jack.
Jack is quiet for a moment before raising his hand. "Am I allowed to give you my honest thoughts? Even if I know you won't like what I have to say?"
Sumire nodded.
"From the moment I met Mashima Toh, and saw him with you. I actually recognized him as a member of the black alice organisation."
At those words Sumire frowned and she glared at Jack. "Then, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
If Jack told her sooner, then she would have become attached to Toh. She would have continued seeing him yes, but she would have squashed these feelings before they continued to grow.
'But, that's a lie isn't it? From the moment I met Toh, I felt something between them. Something that felt like fate. Even if Jack told me his theories, my attitude towards Toh wouldn't have changed. In fact, I would have become more protective of him.'
She may have even sabotaged her fellow Holy knights members work against the black alice organisation, in order to conceal Toh's identity. She would have done anything for him.
