Slipping from my bed before the first light of dawn breaks across the mountain, I head downstairs to escape the manor before my mother awakens. Last night after coming home, she gave me an ear full. Her never ending rant about how I was disrespectful and how she’s raised me better slipped in one ear and out the other. I love her to death, more than anyone will ever know, but she has never taken the time to actually get to know me.
The real me, that is.
My entire life has been filled with one worry after the next. Play groups were a no go. Hell, school for the most part was as well, that is until Elenon came along. He was able to micromanage Orym and I for the most part. But it still didn’t help that I was always treated differently.
And then of course, there was Atlas.
The moment he came into play, everything seemed to brighten. For a little while at least. It didn’t take long for me to realize that things weren’t actually what they seemed.
