The ice cream slowly melted in his hand, but Edward Smith maintained his posture without changing. He looked at Hailey Griffith in front of him, his hand trembling slightly due to nervousness. He didn't know if this little woman was willing to forgive him, but he had already made the biggest concessions and was prepared to be rejected.
Although deep down in his heart, he still hoped she would agree with a nod.
As Edward stared at her, he couldn't help but grind his teeth secretly: damn this woman, no response at all!
Hailey was somewhat flustered, only to come back to reality and find him still kneeling down. Not knowing whether to accept his apology, she abruptly turned around and slipped away towards the crowd behind her.
"Hailey!" He called out, and she skated faster.
Edward really wanted to crush the ice cream in his hand, annoyed, "Are you seriously leaving?"
Hailey continued to skate with her head down, but the crowd in front blocked her way, refusing to back off.
