Alright, I won't deny that the city was impressive. Unfortunately, I learned that Leviathan was right. The effects and differences in this realm were magically dulled on the island. Once we drove across the bridge, I was treated to the full impact, but it didn't stop me from appreciating the city. It was a unique blend of sleek, modern, and classic architecture. With its tall skyscraper buildings made with colored glass instead of transparent and the many statues and public art, the city was designed to be a piece of jewelry.
However, it was still an overload to my senses. Breathing was difficult as the air was much denser, making you feel suffocated. The smell of stagnation was even worse here, though it looked like the people tried masking it with the scent of spices, which didn't do much to help. My joints and muscles hurt more, even though I was just sitting in the car. There was also no way I could take my sunglasses off here because the UV light was much more intense.
