"Again!" I order, not giving my student a chance to rest. "Do it again!"
He was sweating badly, cuts from where he'd failed to defend on his arms and one nasty one on his cheek. I couldn't be easy on him, and we both knew it. Though he was an excellent sorcerer, he still needed work with his battle skills. He had the potential but was too strong-willed sometimes and refused to listen to my instructions. Usually, he'd train with his mother, who had a better handle on his temper, but that wasn't possible now.
My son collapsed as I swiped at him with my sword, hitting his face on the earth for the seventh time today. I laughed, seeing how angry it made him and his wolf as he got back up. As hard as I was on him, he was ten times worse on himself. That's why I knew he'd be the best someday. All he needed was to get past his own mind and feel the warrior spirit within him. Unfortunately, that was something that would take time. Something we seemed to need more often than not.
