"That… is a big desk," Odie commented when she saw the large centerpiece of my office. "You could have Thanksgiving dinner on that desk. Why haven't I been here yet?"
"You never leave the library or hospital," I accuse, a little of my frustration coming through.
I was incredibly agitated.
Hadn't I just been sitting here less than two hours ago, asking the universe for help, and it turned out the help I needed was in front of me, literally? Of all the things I'd had in this office, the desk was the only thing I'd kept because it was such a unique piece, and Liz had made it the focal point of the room. It complimented the mural and matched the fireplace, but your eyes always went to it. No one could tell me who it belonged to before, and Monica insisted she'd never had anything like it. Her desk was at her house, which was far from this one. Now I find out it belonged to Helena or someone in Vince's pack. I hated not knowing, and now it could make or break us.
