My head tilts to the side as I sense the sharp pain coming from my mate. Immediately I open the mind-link, searching for her.
'What's wrong?' I demand, already preparing to leave.
'I'm fine,' her voice sounds shaky as she responds. 'I promise.'
'Don't lie to me,' I warned her. 'Ican sense you're in pain.'
'Black coral,' Nefera sighs. 'I'mfine, I swear. I'm not bleeding or throwing up.'
'Then what happened?' I push my energy towards her, my aura brushing up against hers.
The sensation is almost like touching, but not quite the same. Fenrir and Chagan reach out to her, and I imagine both of them rubbing up against her. Giving her the comfort she needs.
'Okay, I'll tell you, but please don't freak out,' she begs before telling me everything going on since I'd left the packhouse. I don't interrupt her as she tells me about elder David and Krystal's granddaughter or that her mother is Nefera's best friend from New York.
