"Where am I?"
In an unknown location a tiny being opened its eyes. It looked around to perceive its surroundings but to no avail, in the darkness it could not see anything.
"Where am I?"
It asked itself again, trying to remember this place and how he got here. But he could not remember anything, neither about this place nor how he got here and even more terrifying was that he couldn't remember who or what he was!
It was not like an infant who had just been born and didn't know anything. The feeling he got was something else, rather it felt like someone took his memory away leaving him in this confused and terrified state. He panicked and tried to move but..
"What is this, why can't I move? Wait, I can't feel my legs…and my hands!"
This sudden realisation terrified him even more. But before he could do anything he felt drowsy and started losing his consciousness, falling in a dream-like state. A few hours later he woke up again with a gleam in hiseyes.
"So that's what happened." he finally came to the realisation of the state he was in after its memories returned. He realised that his current situation was most likely related to the last memory he remembered.
All this started one day when Rahen, a teen, was returning home from his part time job. It was already late and the moon was hanging high in the sky bathing the world in its beautiful light.Suddenly Rahen heard a voice.
[ Synchronisation complete...installing in 30 minutes ]
The sudden voice startled him, he immediately stopped the bicycle and looked around him but could not see anyone,Hhe was standing alone in the middle of the road dimly illuminated by the moonlight.
"Maybe I am overhearing things. I should really get some much needed rest" he thought and continued on his way. In a few minutes he reached his destination. It was a building that looked neither too old, nor new. This was the apartment building he lived in. Looking at it for a moment he went inside.
He reached his room he put the bag on the table and went for a shower. Taking a long shower he came out and picked up the bag. From that he took out a box, this box contained his meal for the night. It was from the restaurant he worked part time in, the owner lady there was kind and gave him food whenever there were leftovers. He quickly heated up the food and sat down to eat, just then.
[ Installing in 10 seconds ]
The voice he heard earlier one again sounded in his ears, startling him.
He quickly looked around to find no one but himself in the room. The voice continued

[ 0… installing the system ]
With this final line the voice once again went silent. For a few minutes nothing happened, Rahen was really confused about what was happening when he felt a sharp pain in his head. With a cry he fell unconscious.
When he regained his consciousness he found himself in a mysterious place, surrounded by milky white clouds that reached past his knees he couldn't see the floor. Above his head was the pitch black sky extending endlessly. But despite being alone in this unknown place Rahen was not afraid or anxious at all, rather he felt calm and comfortable. This place gave him the feeling of returning home after a long time.
Suddenly the clouds in front of him gathered to form a human shape, then the cloud human gradually gained human features like eyes, ears etc. Eventually it turned into a beautiful human woman with two white horns on her forehead, surrounded with a golden sheen.
She was extremely beautiful, having flawless skin with perfect curves and slender waist. She had long legs and golden hair that reached her waist. Her eyes were also golden that contained endless depth inside them, just one look and she could charm any man in the world. She was tall, even Rahen with the height of 6 feet only reached her shoulders. While Rahen was enchanted with her beauty she slowly spoke.
"Welcome host, I'm the embodiment of the system. I'm here to help you utilise the system better. "
"What! I'm not understanding a thing you are saying. Where am I, and what are you talking about?"
Rahen was in a very confused state right now, he could not understand anything that was happening. He was somewhere unknown with an unknown woman with horns, who was saying things he didn't understand.
"The system is the power that will help you grow stronger, much more than you can ever imagine. And you have been selected as the host for the system. The space you are currently in is called 'soul space' . This is the place where your soul is rested and prepared for reincarnation." The lady said with her charming voice
"System and reincarnation, is it like the thing I've read in novels and manga?" He mumbled, remembering the novels he usually read.
"Yes, it is similar to that." she answered.
"How do you know about what I have read?"
"System has access to the host's memories." she answered nonchalantly
"you have access to my memories? What the hell!" It was quite scary to know that someone else knew everything about you.
The lady however didn't reply to his comment.
"But this system and reincarnation thing, are you telling the truth?" He enquired. He didn't know whether it was because of this place or something else but he was very calm in this situation. Rather he was quite excited about her words. He pinched his elbow to check if he was dreaming and it turned out that he was not.
"So when am I going to be reincarnated?" He was excited and couldn't help but ask.
"Host just need to go through one final step before reincarnation" she answered back in her melodious voice
"What step?"
"To determine the organism host will be reincarnated as"

The place went silent. It took Rahen some time to actually process her words.
"What do you mean, determine? I'm a human so of course I'll be reincarnated as a human, right?"
"It's not necessary for the host to be reincarnated as the same species. The process follows some rules to determine the next reincarnation." Her words threw cold water on Rahen expectations of his exciting new life. He asked reluctantly
"What rules?"
"First, the next organism for reincarnation will be chosen randomly. Completely based on luck.
Second, in some special cases and by using special items the host can sometimes decide the next reincarnation.
Third, the host can decide the gender as he wishes.
Fourth, the physical features of the host will also be random."
"What rules, I can only decide if I can be male or female". He clearly didn't like things this way, but there was nothing he could do. While he was worried about his future the clouds below once again gathered beside that woman, forming a huge vertical spinning wheel on a stand.
"Now, let's determine the next organism you will be reincarnated as" she said and spinned the wheel before Rahen could say anything. The wheel was humongous, even though it seemed very slow' it was spinning at terrifying speed with tens of thousands of compartments passing by every moment. And the number of compartments on it seemed endless.
Before it could complete even a tenth of its rotation it suddenly stopped, with its pointer towards a compartment, which had the word 'mosquito' written on it
"Fu*k! How can I have such bad luck?" he cursed, lamenting his luck. He had thought they he would start his new glorious journey like the main characters from novels and mangas, but his luck played a joke on him.
"Continuing with the reincarnation."
While he was lost in anger and disappointment, he heard the woman's voice. Before he could think, everything darkened before him.
