Oliver's (Owen) POV
My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might break through my chest. My hand hovered for a second before I finally knocked on her door, unsure if I was ready for whatever would happen next.
But the moment Victoria opened it, everything else faded.
Her eyes widened in surprise, and for the briefest second, I thought she might shut the door in my face—or worse, stand there frozen in silence. But then her expression softened, and in an instant, she closed the distance between us.
Without a single word, she threw her arms around me, burying her face into my chest as if she'd been holding her breath since the last time we spoke. The weight in my chest lifted. I hadn't realized just how tightly I'd been holding on to fear—fear that she wouldn't want me anymore, that guilt and pride would keep her away.
But she let it all go.
