Esme let her legs dangle over the billboard and rested her hands behind her, staring at the city lights and gently smiling against the cold breeze against her face. This spot, along with the highest points on the skyscrapers, was becoming one of her favourites in Chester, beside the valley and forest. It was quieter here, and the positioning overlooked the city. Still, the city's noise pollution drifted to them, the cars driving, people walking and talking, and the occasional sound of the rattling trains nearby. Chester was a city that never sleeps.
It was the perfect place for vampires to lurk.
"No shit," Isana commented sarcastically. Esme ignored her and let her shoulders relax down from her ears. They were completely alone and far from anyone else, and she felt better sitting in the darkness. It was the perfect location to speak to Marcus, and if he decided to bug out and go all wolf on her, then there was the valley behind them. He could run there if it really came to it.
