His palms gradually clenched into fists when the image of many fingers pointing at him flashed inside his mind, along with the echoes of their mocking laughs.
"What do you mean embarrassing?" Clyde asked in a low voice. "You saved someone's life, how is that embarrassing?"
Ryley remained idling for a while, his eyes went dull before he let out a heavy sigh, shrugging his shoulders. "Some of the students... made fun of me. They said I was hallucinating because I couldn't prove that there was a guy who needed help at that time."
Clyde furrowed his brows deeper as he heard it, and the cold sweeping across his blue eyes showed just how eager he was to make those people who'd hurt Ryley in the past pay for what they did.
Ryley stared at him for a while and continued with a blank gaze, "I wasn't supposed to make it into the student exchange program in the first place. It should've been an Alpha student, not a mere Beta like me because God forbids Betas doing better than Alphas."
