CHAPTER START---
Descending from the heavens, Star and Stripe is cloaked in brilliant white energy. Even her cape was shrouded in the solid energy that also comprised the crude 'spear' in her hands as she falls.
She crashed into the battlefield below and looks around, seeing Horizon sitting on a pile of rubble a few miles away.
And with seemingly one step, she arrives in front of him, slashing down at him with her energy weapon.
SHAMBLES!
He warps behind her, sitting on another pile of rubble and looking up at her.
She turns to see his visor was cracked, still operating and broadcasting, unbeknownst to them. But his right eye was now exposed, or it would be if not for the glowing blue energy vapor pouring out of the glowing gap.
She sees him holding a Room in his left hand while Sunder is in his right, and prepares for another round.
"I was expecting a giant laser beam," he says. "Didn't think you'd copy my move."
"You would have dodged."
"Nah, that attack wasn't enough to break my defense. Besides, I'm really not in the mood to back down. Now from you, not from anyone, or anything."
"Then we feel the same way." She rushes forward and performs a horizontal slash, releasing a shockwave that devastated more of the Tokyo area, blasting apart buildings and shaking apart many more.
Turning around she sees that warped to safety and crushed the Room in his hand.
T-ROOM: Flowing Curtain!
The energy of his Temporary Room cloaks his body, a and protects him, the very move she copied to achieve her current form.
The energy cloakig his blade glows brighter in response to his intent, and he warped in front of her, slashing downward.
INCISION!
His amplified slash meets her spear and for a moment her knees buckle.
Even with her otherworldly physical advantage, the striking power of his energy causes her hands to sting before she pushes back, only for him to warp beside her and slash at her side.
She barely reacts in time to move out of the way, only for him to warp to her new location and stab her with the top of his blade.
She feels the strain against her focus as her energy armor fights against his.
Then Horizon flickers in place, reappearing with his hand outstrethed adn grabbing her arm.
COUNTER SHOCK!
His lightning dances across her body, intent to destabilize her armor by mixing his bioelectricity with it.
Star panics for a moment and launches herself into the sky, breaking his grip and his wrist. The draft from her launch lifts him off his feet, but before she can even come to her sensed he's warped above her and descends with a slash.
She sees it and her eyes wide.
DIVINE DIVIDE!
She punches the air to propel herself away with the recoil, and glances back to see the mile-wide blue crescent slash easily cleave through her cape, and the energy protecting it.
Spinning in the air she launches a punch at him, and the moment he warps away she spins in a wide arc, holding out her spear.
Knowing he's appear around her to counter attack she clashes with his blade when he does exactly that.
The force sends him flying but he warps away before hitting the ground, maintaining his falling momentum instead of cancelling it as he usually does.
He rockets toward her back, blade held forward to run her through, but Star spins on a dime and thrusts the spear outward, clashing the energy of his blade.
To her shock and horror, Horizon reaches out to the side with his free hand before warping away.
Star hears the rubble below move with his footsteps, and turns while falling to see his standing there ready to hurl Sunder like a javelin.
Before her feet touch the flow he reinforces the energy around it and throws it at her.
'This is my chance, I can break it and disarm him,' she thinks as he feet are about to touch the ground, already reaching out for the sword.
SHAMBLES!
Horizon appears behind her, placing a hand on her back, and Star feels the energy around her resist his pull.
GAMMA—
He draws upon all the radiation within this Tokyo sized Room, including the radiation in her body and energy, but she resists.
The atmosphere around them grows cold and a thin layer of frost overtakes the battlefield as he pulls in much of the heat alongside the radiation.
Star spins around, only to find he's already gone, then turns around to see him holding Sunder which he cloaked with the radiation.
—DIVIDE!
He appears in front of her and slashes downward.
The dark green slash is launched at point black and the most she can do is control her energy armor to reinforce the spear as she holds it with both hands.
Horizon's attack easily cleaves through it along with the armor on her chest, slashing her from right shoulder to left him before he warps behind her.
He grabs her by her long and energy cloaked hair and swings her as she's wracked with pain, launching her into one of the few untouched parts of Tokyo City.
Star's vision fades in and out as she's send careening though buildings, only to come to her senses a few seconds later as nearly fifty skyscrapers as floating his above her.
With one horizontal slash Horizon used Amputate to cleave most of the building at the street level, and with a thought he warped the entire city into the air.
TAKT!
He cast his hand to the earth, and following this motion every building compresses itself into an ultradense earth spear and rockets toward Star and Stripe.
As Star and Stripe is buried alive, pushed nearly a mile deep into the earth, Horizon holds Sunder with both hands and pierces the ground, aiming it directly at her.
ULTRASOUND!
He sends an immense soundwave using the earth as a medium, powerful enough to shake her internal organs and have her reeling in pain.
He feels her fighting against it as she uses her absurd physical power to claw her way out of the earth.
Beneath the earth Star and Stripe feels as if her brain is about to explode, as if she were made of loose sand and he was shaking her apart.
But she persist, pushing through the pain in an attempt to reach the surface.
She grabs onto the superdense material pinning her down and burying her and begins climbing, using her strength to almost swim through the earth.
Beneath his visor, Horizon's eyes narrow as she leaves the effective zone for his vibrational attack.
He then buries his entire blade into the earth and increases the power, but this attack only works on non-living things.
CRUMBLE!
He is less than a mile from where Star and Stripe is buried, yet for 8km -5mi- around him, every non-living thing touching the earth is shaken into dust.
Similar to Shigaraki's decay, but all happening in an instant.
The solid material Star was using to move toward the surface suddenly become sand, trying to drown her in sand.
And knowing how difficult and annoying using Takt on sand is, Horizon raises his hand to the sky.
PRESSURE!
Just as she copied her ability to create her armor, he learned much from their friendship as well.
Such as how to more easily control the air pressure, in the same way she creates her air avatar.
He creates a city-sized hand and brings his hand down, and the air hand mimics his movement, crushing her deeper into the earth.
TAKT!
He moves the sand at her side as well as below her, trapping and suffocating her while she's being crushed on all sides, placing her in an uncomfortable position, forcing her to give up one of her Orders to get out of this situation.
Quickly running out of breath, Star and Stripe grits her teeth and wills the energy around her to reinforce her spear.
The full power of a Star Strike blast can make a 150km -93mi- wide blast, but she's already been forced to use so much of it against Horizon that she'd planned to be more sparing with large attacks.
Defending against even one of his slashes takes over 1% of the power. Even compared to the binary fusion plasma reactor of the Star Strike system, Horizon was an entirely other level of energy production.
But in this instance, she sacrifices some of her remaining energy from this shot, and shatters the spear in her grasp.
Horizon's eyes widen as a massive explosion of blinding white energy instantly expands outward, vaporizing everything within 15km -9mi- and forcing him to warp away.
"Such an annoying Quirk," Horizon mutters, overlooking the deep crater from a half destroyed skyscraper toward Saitama Tokyo. His eyes couldn't see the bottom, but the was a faint light there. And his Room told him that she was already rising to her feet, forming another spear.
Horizon reaches out to the side and forms a charge in his hand, then with a thought calls down dozens of lightning bolts into his hand, forming the hauntingly familiar Lightning Smite.
But instead of shattering the bolt to perform the very move Star and Stripe just copies.
She slams it into Sunder, infusing the blade with lightning, and with a gesture, he channels the radiation within this large Room into it as well, cloaking it with crackling green lightning as Star and Stripe rockets toward him.
SHOCK SURGE!
The lightning around his blade solidifies for a fraction of a second before it clashes with her energy spear, and Star feels it disrupt her weapon for a moment before slicing through it.
Her eyes widen as she twists her body, using her vastly superior physical speed to launch a kick to the side of his leg as she leans away from his blade.
It cleaves through her armor and cuts her cheek along with her ear before Horizon warps way to avoid her kick.
She instantly reforms a spear and charges in, launching two attack, both of which he takes advantage of to slash through her weakened armor.
Leaving a large slash on her back and another across her shoulder, both of which her energy armor hides before she leaps into the sky.
She concentrates on her energy armor and forces it to gather in her hand, reinforcing her spear to the limit.
"You say you won't run, so let's test that!" she yells before launching the spear at him.
Horizon sees it, but in the same moment, high above, the Star Strike system fires again.
'She placed a timer on the firing sequence before returning to the battlefield…very clever,' he thinks as the energy beam is already launched.
He sets aside the thought of stopping her from recharging her armor and spear as the beam has already been fired and rushes forward to clash with her spear.
Arcs of green lightning and white energy rain down across the city and surrounding mountains as the air for two hundred miles is scorched.
The entire region from Japan to the middle of China shakes and rumbles as Horizon's blade entirely cancels out the energy of her spear, leaving a sour taste in the air.
"Still confident you'll win?" Star and Stripe asks, landing a few hundred feet away from his with her energy armor and spear fully recharged.
In response, Horizon points his blade at her, green lightning still crackling across it. "Why wouldn't I be? It's only you…"
Her brows furrow as she charges in, and with her energy spear fully charged, when they clash, his blade is unable to cleave through her spear.
Bringing them back to a relatively even footing, even for just a moment…
