Chapter 13 - Freedom or....

As the guards continued to observe the scene unfolding before them, they couldn't help but wonder what had sparked their master's sudden fascination with Becca. Had she somehow managed to pierce the armor of Xavier's notorious indifference?

One of the guards, a grizzled veteran named Victor, leaned in to whisper to his companion, "You think she's got some kind of hold on him?"

His companion, a younger man named Ryder, raised an eyebrow. "I don't know, but I do know one thing – our master's got a reputation for getting what he wants, no matter the cost."

Victor nodded in agreement. "Aye, and if Becca's caught his eye, she'd best be prepared for the consequences."

As they spoke, Xavier's gaze remained fixed on Becca, his expression unreadable. The guards exchanged another weighted glance, sensing that they were merely pawns in a much larger, more complex game – one in which Becca's fate hung precariously in the balance...

As they walked, Becca's eyes locked onto Magnus, her mind racing with a mix of fear, anger, and determination. She could still feel the sting of his slap, the warmth of her cheek a bitter reminder of his brutality.

As she gazed at him, a silent vow formed in her mind: "Just you wait, Magnus." She would make him pay for his cruelty, for the pain and humiliation he'd inflicted upon her.

But for now, she knew she had to tread carefully. She couldn't let her emotions get the better of her, not when she was still at the mercy of these men.

Becca took a deep breath, her eyes never leaving Magnus's face. She could feel a spark of defiance igniting within her, a flame that would burn brighter with each passing moment.

Magnus, sensing her gaze, turned to face her. For a fleeting instant, their eyes locked, and Becca could have sworn she saw a flicker of unease in his expression.

But it was quickly replaced by his usual sneer, and Becca knew she had to be careful not to provoke him further. At least, not yet.

She dropped her gaze, her mind already racing with plans for revenge, to escape, and to reclaim her life. The question was, when would she make her move?

*Xavier's Mansion*

"This is Master Xavier's bedroom, ma'am," An elderly lady announced, leading Becca to a huge door which she opened shakily, the lady looked like she was in her forties. Becca was transfixed yet mesmerized, why did Xavier ask for her to be brought to his room , was he going to take advantage of her again??

Becca's heart raced as she stepped into the room, her mind swirling with questions and a hint of fear. The thought of Xavier taking advantage of her again sent a shiver down her spine. She remembered the last encounter, the way he had manhandled her, God the earth should open up and swallow me already". She exclaimed inwardly.

The elderly lady stood back, watching Becca with a mix of concern and curiosity. "Master Xavier will be waiting for you," she said softly, sensing the tension in the air. Becca swallowed hard, trying to steady her breathing.

She glanced around the room, searching for any signs of danger. The lavish decor felt almost suffocating, and the shadows seemed to dance ominously in the corners. Becca knew she had to be cautious. Whatever Xavier wanted, she had to be prepared.

As she took a step further into the room, she steeled herself for whatever confrontation lay ahead. Would she find answers, or would she be trapped in his web of deceit once more?

The lavish space enveloped her – gold and cream hues, opulent furnishings.

Wealth and power radiated from every detail.

Becca's anxiety deepened, etched on her face.

Fear gripped her heart, uncertainty swirling.

No phone, no escape.

Even if she called for help, would anyone come? What about her job, her car, what is going to happen to the life she was already building?

She needed to leave here, she doesn't belong here, she's nobody's pet or slave.

Her life spiraled from bad to worse.

Yet, she clung to hope.

"Everything happens for a reason," she whispered.

A mantra to calm her racing thoughts.

Becca steeled herself, determination rising as she took a seat on a sofa adjacent to the master bed.

She would face whatever lay ahead.

Footsteps echoed outside, and Becca sat up hastily, her gaze darting toward the door.

Xavier entered, his presence commanding attention.

Becca's eyes dropped, unable to meet his piercing stare.

Xavier noticed her tremble, his gaze lingering.

"Still withholding information?" he asked gruffly, sympathy absent.

"Or do you prefer another night of... persuasion?"

Becca's voice trembled.

"Please, sir, I've told you everything about the deal."

Her honesty rang clearly.

Xavier's expression remained unreadable.

Xavier tossed documents at Becca, which she caught instinctively.

"From now on, you're my pet," he declared, "until you confess the truth about our planned encounter."

He strode to the wardrobe, pulled out a luxurious leather jacket, and tossed it at her.

"Put it on. We're leaving now. I don't have time to waste."

Becca blinked, holding the jacket in awe.

Its premium leather and sleek design marked it as a high-end fashion icon, coveted by celebrities.

Its value was staggering.

As she slipped into the jacket, Xavier's gaze lingered, his expression unreadable.

Becca hesitated, uncomfortably dressing in front of Xavier.

His wicked grin mocked her modesty.

"Can't change in front of me after our intimate night?" he taunted.

Xavier knew she was raised with values, and his actions had shattered them.

He savored teasing her, determined to uncover Wildcat's identity.

A thought struck him, and his brows furrowed.

He recalled the murdered girl's photos and handed Becca his phone.

"Is this Wildcat?" he asked.

Becca's eyes widened, tears streaming down.

Jennifer Hale, her dear friend, lay lifeless in the images.

"Jennie... no!" Becca sobbed.

Xavier's smirk twisted.

"Tell me, what were you thinking?" he prodded.

Becca's words tumbled out amidst tears.

"Jennifer Hale... introduced me to Wildcat... our deal... that night."

Xavier's gaze narrowed, piecing together the connections.

"You're my pet now," Xavier declared.I'll help you uncover the truth, but only if you behave. Obey me, and when I tire of you, you'll be free.

Becca nodded, reluctantly accepting his terms.

"Be a good girl, cooperate, and we'll unravel this together," Xavier said.

"Come, pet," he commanded, emphasizing her new status.

"Remember, behave... Know who you're dealing with. Don't embarrass me."

Becca understood Xavier's intention: assert dominance.

She felt trapped, but agreed to play along.

As they left, Becca's mind raced:

How could she outsmart Xavier?

What secrets lay hidden?

Would she find freedom or further entanglement?
