Looking up, Joon-won saw the lonely moon hanging high in the sky. He glanced around, noticing the security guard already lost in his dreams, a contented smile on his face. With a small sigh, he began his slow walk back home.
His stomach grumbled in protest—he hadn't eaten since lunch, which was just a small rice ball. Work had consumed his entire day, leaving him with no time for a proper meal. Most of the affordable shops that usually stayed open late had already closed, and the few that were still open were far too expensive for him.
Stumbling slightly, he finally reached his small, desolate one-bedroom apartment. Space was so cramped that even he couldn't tell where the living room ended and the kitchen began. Clutching his empty stomach, he opened the fridge, even though he already knew there was nothing inside. Still, he hoped for a small miracle. But reality was cruel—only a few empty water bottles and some boxes of kimchi, untouched for months, sat on the shelves.
