The next day after lunch I joined Mum to sit beside the garden. I could see her eyes were looking red. I could tell she continued crying after I left her late night, with the black circle under her eye which looks swollen.
"Ray, I can't do this anymore," she said holding my hands. "I stayed in this marriage because I did not want you raised in a broken home but you are grown now." Inod my head in agreement. I don't see any difference in staying in the marriage. Divorce just makes it official.
"My marriage to your father was arranged and I liked him the first time we meet. I knew he was a womanizer but he treated me very nice at the beginning of our marriage that I fell in love with him, but he has always treated me like a business transaction.
I thought it was okay at least he treated me well but I was just being stupid. I will not allow you go into an arrange marriage for some business transition, except you like the girl in question and she does too."
