Lloyd's POV
The sound of the waves lapping against the shore filled his senses. It enveloped him with a blanketing sense of calm. Yet, Lloyd knew that it was fleeting as he watched her stare at the sea, completely lost in her thoughts. Her lips were pursed in discontentment, and her forehead was creased- fold upon fold of worry.
For the first time since he met her, he was at a loss for words of comfort. He knew that the end was nearing. He had heard it when the Island groaned in a complaint earlier that night. He didn't know what to feel at the moment. He wondered if they would be the same when they became whole once again.
He had grown rather fond of the human side of this girl over the past few months. The goddess was incomparably flawless, but the human was beautifully flawed. Or was it all in his head? As the sun's warm rays peeked from over the horizon, they caressed the side of her face like he always had in his memories of their time together in another world.
