Rejected by Heaven, Chosen by Hell
“In the name of Light, you are condemned to die.”
The words echoed through the Celestial Sanctuary, sharp as daggers, final as death. Seraphina Elorei, once hailed as the purest soul of the heavens, stood barefoot on sacred ground—bloodied, broken, betrayed.
She had saved kingdoms with her prayers. Healed thousands with her light. And loved one man with every fragment of her celestial heart.
That man now stood before her, robed in divine gold, sword drawn.
“Caelum…” Her voice trembled, not from fear—but heartbreak. “You of all people—”
“You consorted with shadows,” he said coldly. “You stole divine power. You are no longer worthy.”
Seraphina looked past him to the woman standing at his side—Lyra, her sister. Draped in her stolen halo. Smiling with angelic sweetness… and eyes full of venom.
The High Priests began their incantation. Holy fire bloomed at her feet.
She screamed as flames devoured her soul, the scent of betrayal thicker than smoke. But as her consciousness faded, a voice—deep, ancient, and mocking—whispered from the abyss:
“Heaven has rejected you, little star. But I have been waiting.”
Swear your soul to me… and I will give you power enough to burn them all.”
In the final breath before her essence shattered, Seraphina didn’t beg for mercy.
She smiled.
“Then let it burn.”
