Puppet of the Gods

[Puppet of the Gods / Kamigami no Kugutsu] Since the dawn of existence, two opposing forces have governed the world: Linear Fate and Boundless Fate. Linear Fate ensures absolute order, where every event is predetermined and unchangeable, while Boundless Fate embodies limitless possibilities, allowing free will to shape destiny. The Archons, self-proclaimed gods of the world, feared the chaos of free will and sought to eradicate it, forging an alliance with Linear Fate to suppress Boundless Fate and trap mortals in an unbreakable cycle of predestination. From the remnants of Boundless Fate and the last flickers of human defiance, Nazo was born. Unlike any mortal, he was untouched by Linear Fate’s and the Archon’s control, an anomaly with the potential to restore the shattered balance. However, the Archons recognized the danger he posed before he could ever realize his power. Knowing they can’t erase him yet and the fact that Boundless Fate was severely weaken, they’re able and did twisted him into their greatest puppet. From infancy, they manipulated his very existence, embedding within him a false purpose. He was raised as their enforcer, taught to believe that resisting fate was futile, that free will was an illusion, and that Linear Fate was the ultimate truth. His emotions were suppressed, his memories distorted, and his mind shackled in an unending cycle of obedience. Whenever a sliver of doubt arose, the Archons manipulated reality around him, ensuring that every attempt at defiance resulted in despair and failure. Yet, despite their efforts, the tiniest echoes of Boundless Fate still lingered within him. It was barely perceptible, but enough to spark questions. Enough for cracks to form in the Archons’ perfect world. Enough to make him wonder—could linear fate truly be change?
