Gods Between Us: Season 1

JayChao
Living in a world after a war against nations, many have lived in villages. But rarely ever would people live in a city due to one's lack of trust for another, and so forth. A young boy named Jack and his younger brother Kuro both learn the basic needs of survival and fighting with and without weapons. Jack would meet a young girl named Leina, during his time at his academy. She was different from the rest and came from a righteous clan and family. Nothing was easy for her or those around her, as her clan had two separate rivals, which ultimately devastated her livelihood for her and everyone she has ever lived with. As time continued, they were soon divided from each other and had to learn on their own, due to suspicion with the owners of this program. Although Leina was separated from Jack and Kuro, the three would eventually reunite within a village they were kidnapped and forced to side with, in order to fight against an outbreak of mutated humans named “The Branch of Grace.” This mutation has been caused by an inside sabotage from a man named Sekido Makigore. His own philosophical ideals, and lust for acknowledgement has corrupted his own life. Sekido’s younger brother, Shiro Makigore, would take after Sekido ideals. As the world undergoes more conflict, Jack, Kuro, and many others would eventually find ancient artifacts that have originated from gods long ago. These artifacts provide certain powers for the user that finds and collects them. Many of these artifacts would contain power so intense, it grants them the power of a god. This revelation would eventually lead to battles with newly formed gods all across the globe, changing the planet they once knew forever. Giving birth to a new age, The Age of the Gods Between Us.

Scions of the Cruel King

In Scions of the Cruel King, the Targaryen family drama is in full swing. After Aegon’s death, Aenys took the throne, but things quickly went south. Aenys wasn’t exactly a strong leader, and it didn’t take long before the Faith rose up against him. That’s when Maegor stepped in—furious and out for blood after the murder of Eleana. He crushed the rebellion with an iron fist. When Aenys died under some pretty shady circumstances, Maegor took over as king. But even though he was ruthless, the Faith remained a thorn in his side right up until his own brutal end in 48 A.L. Now, the story kicks off in 56 A.L., and the Targaryens are still in hot water. Jaehaerys, Aenys’s son, is holding down the fort as regent for his young cousin Vaegyl, Maegor’s son. The realm is a mess, full of uprisings and political scheming. Jaehaerys and his allies, like Gerold Westerling, are doing their best to keep the peace, but they don’t realize that Westerling and Ser Tybolt Lannister have their own plans. They’re secretly plotting to put Westerling’s grandson, Aegon, on the throne. As Vaegyl gets closer to coming of age, things start heating up. Old loyalties are questioned, hidden secrets come to light, and the shadow of Maegor’s brutal reign still hangs over everything. The fight for the Iron Throne is just beginning, and it’s going to get messy. If you’re into stories packed with power struggles, betrayals, and the Targaryens fighting for control of the Seven Kingdoms, Scions of the Cruel King is right up your alley.
